Grand Champions Polo Club Teams Up With Palm Beach Polo For New League By Sharon Robb
After its most successful fall season in the club’s eight-year history, Grand Champions Polo Club is gearing up for a spectacular winter season. While its pro teams Audi (captained by Marc Ganzi) and Flight Options (led by Melissa Ganzi) prepare for the 20goal season at the International Polo Club Palm Beach, Grand Champions Polo Club, in concert with Palm Beach Polo, will feature a new medium-goal winter season to promote polo and develop players at every level. Grand Champions has partnered with Palm Beach Polo as part of the club’s initiative to enable polo enthusiasts to enjoy the sport with family and friends in a relaxed atmosphere. The new league — called “Grand Champions Polo Club @ PB Polo” —
will start play in January and continue until April. Nine well-manicured polo fields throughout Wellington, along with a newly constructed large venue for arena polo, will be used for games, tournaments, clinics and lessons for men, women and children. “The idea is to continue to host medium-goal and low-goal with significant enhancements to the customers’ benefits,” said Palm Beach Polo Manager Juan Olivera, who hosted 35 teams in various tournaments and leagues last season at Palm Beach Polo. “Now, with Grand Champions as the
lead partner, we are going to upgrade the menu of polo options,” Olivera said. “It’s the old Palm Beach Polo Club going to Grand Champions, two powerful brands with a new concept of polo. We are keeping the same prices, leagues and format that we used to have.” The club will host not only players from Wellington and across the U.S., but also has the capability to host teams and patrons from around the world. Grand Champions will also provide horses for visiting patrons and players of all levels.
