Situated just moments from the bustling city centre of Coventry is Exhall Hall, an utterly unique and very beautiful Grade II listed, 7 bedroom detached family home, which spans over 6000 square foot. The oldest part of the building dates as far back as 1610. Over the years, Exhall Hall has been occupied as a single residence, in 1920 it was converted into 3 separate 3 bedroom houses. In 1984 it was turned back into one single family home by the present owner. The current owners of this unique property have exposed many of the original features, restoring them to their former glory, whilst also modernising aspects of the home to accommodate our modern way of living. Areas of the building require some restoration and further modernisation. The garden boasts a well established garden and features a large open lawn that leads down to the moat,

Seller Insight “Before moving here thirty-five years ago we were looking to downsize,” says the owner, “but we struggled to find anything we really loved, and then we happened upon this house. It was obviously a lot bigger than what we had been searching for, but it was so unlike anything we had seen before that we just had to have it.” “The house is absolutely steeped in history,” continues the owner. “We are certain that it dates pre-1610, but over the centuries it’s been enlarge and modernised, and then in 1923 it was split into three separate dwellings. We knew it would take a lot of time and effort to convert it back into one magnificent home, but there was no way we could pass up the opportunity to own it.” “Fortunately, over the years many of the beautiful original features had been covered up rather than removed, so we were able to retain and return a good number to their former glory, while also modernising to make the house more conductive to our way of living. We have most definitely done our bit to breath new life into the house, but it still has a wealth of potential for improvement and to bring it right up to date with modern living standards.” “The house sits in an extensive plot of beautiful gardens and because of the moat it’s essentially on an island, which is accessed by either one of the two bridges,” continues the owner. “The garden is now well established and features a big open lawn leading to the moat, and is surrounded by trees on all sides as well as a spinney, which shields us from noise and view. It’s a real oasis of calm, and although our children were older when we moved here we always said it would be a real haven for children.”
