The adults, teens and kids programming is superb and offers something for everyone. Teens have their own space in the library with books, gaming systems and computers. The Children’s Library features a storytime room, a play and learn area provided by the Friends of the Fitchburg Library and computers that promote early literacy skills. Adults can utilize the Technology Lab with 18 computers available for free in both PC and Mac systems. Group study rooms and private study areas are available as well as a quiet reading room with cozy fireplace. The library also hosts events for children like the Great Halloween Hunt, kids movies and an art program for toddlers. Three meeting rooms are for rent for community groups and businesses (more information can be found on page 22/23). The library is a fun and functional place for the whole family! The library is located at 5530 Lacy Road and can be reached at (608) 729-1760. More information can be found on page 8.

FITCHBURG PATHS (no trail passes required) CANNONBALL PATH The Cannonball Path is shared-use path that runs from the Beltline Highway to the connection of the Capital City State Trail, Badger State Trail, Military Ridge Path and Southwest Path. The section of path from

the Military Ridge Path to east of Seminole Highway is currently packed gravel and will be paved in 2014. A bridge over the Beltline Highway was completed in 2013. This is a joint effort between the cities of Fitchburg and Madison. Unlike state trails, Fitchburg paths are free to use with no trail passes required.
MILITARY RIDGE PATH This path is an extension of the Military Ridge State Trail that connects to the Badger State Trail , Capital City State Trail, Cannonball Path and Southwest Path near Fitchburg’s Arrowhead Park. This section of path is currently packed gravel and will be paved in 2014. A bridge will be constructed over McKee Road to provide a convenient and safe crossing of this four lane divided roadway, and is expected to be completed in May 2014. This park is a unit of the Capital Springs State Recreation area and boasts 328 acres, a picnic area, boat launch, group camping, wildlife pond, overlook tower, hiking/cross-country ski trails and Native American Archaeological Trail. The campground features 54 reservable sites.
