Call Booklet Media team members and editorial Assistants

A Fun and Effective Learning Environment One of the main goals of Tirana 2019 will be to provide every member of the team a fun learning environment as the main benefit of being a part of a media team is learning about yourself, photography techniques, other cultures and so on in a way that is practical, engaging and entertaining. This is why the editorial team will mainly focus on assisting the media team members and give them the opportunity to take all the ownership of their ideas and products, from the beginning until the end. However, it does not mean that knowing how to edit is a prerequisite for joining the team. There will always be at least one person from the editorial team present who is able to sit and join the editing/project development process when a team member seeks assistance. Furthermore, there will be an optional module table where advanced modules (i.e. video editing in depth, advanced photography, time management, Lightroom in depth) following the primary modules given on the CJO day will be given at certain times in a day. These modules will mainly be prepared by the editorial team, but media team members are also encouraged (but definitely not obliged) to give modules if they have an expertise they can share. Advanced modules will not be mandatory, team members who are interested in the specific module would just need to take a seat around the module table at the scheduled module time. A Transparent, Approachable and Present Editorial Team Equality within a team is the most important attribute a media team should possess. Hierarchy within the media team of Tirana 2019 will be as low as possible. This will be achieved by the transparency and approachability of the editorial team. Often, media team members are kept in dark about the organisational issues around them and because of the way editorial team reflects these issues, they suspect themselves and their work. It is the editorial team’s duty to be as open and honest as possible and at least make the team members sure that the problem is not about their work. Moreover, media team members will be provided with a small brief about the editorial meetings regarding the points that is in their interest. Moreover, as mentioned above, at least one member from the editorial team will always be capable of sparing time to media team members. Quality Projects with a Reason I am not expecting any media team members to do a project “just for the sake of it. It is detrimental both for the person and the team. That is why I want to focus on people learning and defining what creates a quality output and questioning these definitions constantly. Understanding the core of the work is much more crucial than creating output high in quantity. I have told before how I give importance to quality in projects, but I do not believe that quality comes without understanding what you do and why you do it. Feedback Feedback is very important in order to motivate people and check how the work process is going. Furthermore, it is also a crucial perquisite for quality output. Therefore, the media team members will be granted of feedback throughout the development of their projects, instead of getting feedback only at the end of the projects. Their process will be listened and observed by the editorial team at least twice a day, and they will also be able to ask for feedback when they need. The editorial team is expected to give only constructive and rather short feedback and help to ensure the team members do not feel overwhelmed or overly controlled.
