Motion Pictures, launched in the wake of a $50 million investment from venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, valuing the company at roughly $850 million. Buzzfeed’s film arm will continue to produce short clips for social media and hopes to expand to half-hour serials and feature films. Comedian Jordan Peele, above, and Hollywood producer Michael Shamberg are already on board as advisers.
