14th ExpoVinis Brasil
Visitation and Exhibitors Record Record number of exhibitors, the strong presence of France and Brazil, “rookie” exhibitors from surprising regions, and international presence and premium tastings: these were some of the highlights of the 14th edition of ExpoVinis Brasil 2010, held in São Paulo between 27 and April 29. The records are the result of one of the most significant editions of the event, which brought the 12,000 m² of the Red Pavilion of Expo Center Norte to the world wine map. Over 16,500 visitors have visited us and were able to confirm the highlights and news of the 300 exhibitors who brought flavours and aromas from around the world to the largest wine lounge in Latin America. Also trod on the red carpet of ExpoVinis some 300 journalists. The rookies Bolivia, Serbia and Greece brought their aromas and flavours to harmonize with the terrains of South Africa, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Spain, France, Italy, New Zealand, and Portugal among other countries.

In Vino Veritas Charm and sophistication, news and flavours are characteristics always present in the largest wine event in Latin America. The 2010 edition confirmed the great potential and strong growth that wine market is experiencing in Brazil. With the very positive growth rates in this 14th edition, ExpoVinis Brasil saw unrivalled foreign participation. More and more, foreign exhibitors are looking for a place in “the sun� in the huge Brazilian market. Moreover, the national distributors are seeking way to represent and distribute the most desired labels. With a increasingly select group of visitors, opinion makers and the media seek to keep up with the best and most modern of the wine world. Already looking towards the harvest of 2011, ExpoVinis Brasil prepares to receive the most well recognized labels next year at the Red Pavilion of Expo Center Norte on April 26, 27 and 28, 2011.

IT HAPPENED AT EXPOVINIS BRASIL 2010 International Area
Important groups such as Wines of Argentina and ViniPortugal premiered at the event alongside veterans such as Associação Empresarial de Portugal (AEP), the National Association of Corporate Wine in Portugal (FENADEGAS) and the Wine Region of Alentejo, Dão and Lisbon. Italy, meanwhile, landed at ExpoVinis 2010 with 11 producers representing the terroirs of Lazio, Tuscany, Veneto, Friuli, Umbria and Abruzzo. France, which participated in 2009 with 27 wineries, gathered this year, in an area called ‘Sud de France’, a delegation of 49 producers representing virtually all regions of the country: Aragon, Alsace, Bordeaux, Bourgogne, Castilla La Mancha, Corse, Champagne, Languedoc , Provence, and Val du Loire Vallée du Rhône.

IT HAPPENED AT EXPOVINIS BRASIL 2010 National Area
Brazil came even more representative then the years before. With the involvement of traditional Casa Valduga, LĂdio Carraro, Miolo, Salton, Pizzato and over 40 other wineries, they all met in the area promoted by Ibravin, the Brazilian Wine Institute. Larger and more traditional importers like Aurora (Inovini), Decanter, Del Maipo, Interfood, KMM, Malbec, Qualimpor and Zahil, also marked their presence in ExpoVinis Brasil 2010 alongside with young but consecrated players such as Cantu, Casa AragĂŁo, Costazzurra, Magna Import and Obra Prima. Other recently formed distributors as Devinum, Makro, Ravin Speciale confirmed the strategic importance of this fair is to the most important market players.

A much coveted and recognized award, the TOP TEN chooses the best wine present at the event from 10 different categories. The tasting sessions are done totally blind by an expert panel comprised of journalists, sommeliers, wine tasters associations and tasting schools. Together they comprise a very high level panel.

Conducted by professionals and those with a high knowledge, the tasting sessions held at ExpoVinis are a tour of the world flavours of wine and a real classroom learning experience. In sensory testing sessions, experts demonstrate features of the wines presented, thereby guaranteeing that participants can expand their knowledge of wines, while interacting with the speakers of the event.

The campaign for the communication and dissemination of ExpoVinis Brasil is of utmost importance to our exhibitors as much as it is to us, Exponor, event organizers. In 2010 it was made an investment of over R$ 2 million aiming to achieve, specifically, the industry professionals and target consumer. The investment allocated to advertising in specialized media and communication differences are reflected in the growth of visits and strengthening the confidence of the exhibitors.
