Senior Girl Call Out
Cameron Christy Cameron is from Longview, Texas and is the daughter of Gary and Gaye Christy. She is a Psychology Major and Counseling Minor. Cameron is a member of Mobberly Baptist Church where she is a Sunday School teacher and childcare provider for preschool and schoolaged children. While at ETBU, Cameron has been a part of the ETBU Cross Country team and a member of Psi Chi. She has been named Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, a winner of the Era Miller Writing contest, and has made the Dean’s List with Honors five semesters. Cameron enjoys running, painting, spending time with family, friends and her boyfriend. Her future plans are to attend the University of Texas at Tyler to obtain a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in school psychology, LSSP. Her little sister is Holly Phelps from Tyler, Texas.

Offensively the Tigers finished 25th in the nation in total offense, by far the program’s best offensive output in years. ETBU became just the second team in the history of the American Southwest Conference to post two 1,000-yard rushers in a single season, and it was just the second time it was accomplished in just 10 games.

East Texas Baptist University’s women’s basketball team began the season in November 2011 with the full realization that it would have to find a way to replace seven seniors who had played a vast majority of minutes the previous season. As could be somewhat expected, the Tigers struggled with some of the growing pains associated with this task and finished the 2011-2012 season with a 6-19 mark, losing seven straight to end the year and 18 of their final 21.
