INTRODUCTIONS AND WELCOME.

The Chairperson opened the meeting and welcomed the delegates to Tel Aviv. A special welcome was afforded to Harpa Johannsdottir from Icelandair (in future replacing Begga Gardarsdottir), Maebh Leahy from Aer Lingus (in future replacing Jim Mc Evoy ) and Yaron Dilian from El Al (in future replacing Danny Cohen) as their airlines delegate. Anton thanked Begga, Jim and Danny for their contributions as delegates and said that Begga and Jim would remain on the EXCOM for 2012/13. A special welcome was given also to Mary Hitchcliffe from EI. Chairman then invited Danny Cohen, a long time EL Al delegate and ASCA Honorary Member to address the meeting. He welcomed the delegates to Tel Aviv and wished everybody an enjoyable time during their stay. 2. REPORTS OF THE DELEGATES. Most of the delegates circulated their reports by email prior to the meeting. The remainder were asked to distribute their reports as soon as possible. They will be posted on the ASCA site. 3. MINUTES OF THE AGM HELD IN VIENNA 13th May 2011. The minutes were adopted by Tony Dormer (BA) and seconded by Jean Pierre Bieli (Swiss). 4. REPORTS OF THE EXCOM MEMBERS. The reports of the EXCOM-members were distributed and read to the meeting. They will also be posted on the ASCA site. The Chairman reported on the financial situation, which at present is stable. The accounts showed a closing balance of €138.49. The homepage development costs are up to date and future costs will be covered by the annual administration charge. The Chairman proposed to collect an ASCA communication fee of €100 per member to cover homepage development costs. The proposal was adopted. Those airlines who did not attend the AGM will be invoiced for the communication fee. The Chairman reported on the new homepage developments. The new site was demonstrated and welcomed by the delegates for its extra functionality and the extra details that can now be entered and updated by delegates rather than having to request Erich to do all this work. (Erich’s Information Officer’s report covers the homepage in detail. I would ask delegates to read it carefully). The Klaus Marczoch Award for 2012 goes to Mr Halfdan Hermannsson, Chairman of Icelandair Chess Club for almost 50 years and a great supporter of ASCA events. Halfdan’s very impressive ASCA related CV will be available on our website shortly.

COMPETITION ARRANGEMENTS AND DRAWINGS Deposits: It was agreed that a host could ask for a deposit when appropriate. This point is in our Constitution 7.2.5. Cancellation Fees: Delegates agreed that the airline responsible for causing the host to incur costs associated with the late withdrawal of their team must reimburse the host with such costs. This point is in our Constitution 7.2.5. Team members denied boarding should contact the host immediately detailing the number, thus allowing the host to rearrange hotel and meal numbers. It is advisable for the host to include any cancellation conditions when setting out the package details.

Ten Pin Bowling: The new format of hosting all interested teams in one venue for a weekend was trialed in Luxemburg and was regarded as a success by most because of the opportunity to meet all the bowling members as well as being more cost effective. This format continued this year in CPH. The downside expressed by EI was the need to have a minimum of a 20 lane alley and the opportunity of hosting the event will only materialize every 8/9 years. The old format of a group round and a final meant that hosts were required every 2/3 years and a 10 lane alley, that ALSAA has, would do. Discussions will continue at next year’s captains meeting in Helsinki. Chess: The new format of holding a 2 day event annually instead of the bi-annual 4 round system was held in Iceland in 2011 and got general approval. The positives were one trip per annum and being more cost effective. The negative was the number of matches played and the need to stay extra days if one wanted to explore the city, thus negating the cost effectiveness. This format will continue later this year when TAP will host the event. It is planned to canvas interested teams for their ideas and agree a long term solution for the event at the captions meeting there. . Football: The 5/7, 11 a side and Over 40 events were discussed. The Over 40: BA and TAP are interested. Any others? If so, contact Paul Beck. 11 a side: It was shelved in favor of 5/7 a side teams. 5/7 a side: The host will decide on the number and whether it’s indoor or outdoor. TAP or CSA will host the 2013 event. Ladies Football: As BA has the only team, they will consider entering the CSA tournament. Any other teams interested? Triathlon: Maebh Leahy (EI) offered to draw up draft guidelines on a 3 person triathlon team, i.e. different people doing the running, swimming & cycling. This may enable airlines to field a team and make it a popular event. Culture Gathering: A weekend of song and dance, a concert of choir and music took place in CPH last October and was very well received by those who attended the event. The 2013 event will take place in Helsinki. Kite Surfing: SAS offered to draw up draft rules and circulate them to all delegates to establish the level of interest. Snooker: EI offered to draw up draft rules and circulate them to all delegates to establish the level of interest. Mountain Bike: TAP agreed to organize the event this year to see if there is any interest in it. If this attempt is unsuccessful, it will be removed from the calendar. Volleyball: TAP offered to draw up the rules for gym and beach versions, consisting of 4 men and 2 women.

To:

Austrian Airlines Headoffice

Annual General Meeting 2012 Tel Aviv

E-mail: anton.novak@austrian.com Vienna, 12. Juni 2012

Report of the Chairman The rather special place of this AGM probably has lead to a very low number of delegates present and also the EXCOM is not at all complete. In spite of this we hope, this will be a constructive and friendly meeting and we thank the hosts from ELAL for all the efforts they have spent for arranging this event for the ASCA family. To my opinion ASCA spirit is demonstrated mainly in difficult situations, where we stand together and also join in less easy to access (and to leave) places. My report to the Annual General Meeting will be divided into major topics ! Executive Committee: Three meetings have taken place in LON, FRA and shortly before the AGM in TLV. Planning a date for the EXCOM-meetings turned out to be extremely difficult due to the relatively high number of EXCOM members and the geographical span from Greece to Iceland also makes it very difficult. The minutes of the EXCOM meetings have been distributed to all members, the working atmosphere was very calm and productive. Members: The new members from 2011 – DLH, Qimber – are welcome but still are not fully “established”. Efforts to invite further airlines are ongoing, but results are hardly to be seen, but sometimes it is very quick then – just to stop in the next days again – to be resumed unexpected after a while – receiving no answer thereafter – never deleting the address data – hope dies last! Hosts of Events: The discussion about ways to improve or reasons to blame goes in circles for years. The airline industry in general, the work load of delegates, the seat availability, the competition with local leagues, the costs for just one weekend, the necessity of deposits and/or cancellation fees, the early notification, the late cancellation and – finally – the great feeling and success, when the event has taken place and everyone returned with the feeling, it was worth coming! The EXCOM has tried several ways to improve the situation. The new homepage will send alert messages again to bring up dates and packages in time. The change from bilateral competitions to tournaments (to offer “more sports for the money”) was initiated and showed small encouraging results. In general it remains the human being – the delegate - to either take it over and make it a rewarding event or just let it pass for another year. Page 1/3

Issued May 2012

ASCA / Airline Sports and Cultural Association Communication and Internet: The database functions of the homepage had some years in effect now and much more then expected have proven to be the core way of operation for event management. Especially reduced administrative burden for the EXCOM and more direct involvement of delegates and officials are results we have already harvested. A hacker attack in 2009 showed, that the programming level of the homepage is not “state of the art” anymore and the situation, being based on Austrian Airlines IT-systems made it very complicated to access, update and maintain the pages and data. This finally led to the following: - the homepage files have been transferred to a commercial provider and server. This gives clear access conditions, no dependencies on Austrian IT-restrictions any more and finally a portability to other providers if necessary by new persons and responsibilities. - A modern CMS has been introduced there to maintain the static displays and is used so far easily and without problems marvellously “operated” by Erich Wagner. - The database functionality still was located on Austrian servers and was linked into the new homepage. After we have got access to use a modern development tool and after my personal decision to do the programming job myself we have migrated the data base. Unfortunately the data dumping from one system to the other had a very low quality and it required a lot of manual corrections. But we think, that this has been done now and slightly the advantages show. New features can be introduced without long analysis and discussions with programmers – professionals in their field but without knowledge of ASCA needs and processes. - The main concern for the near future will be, that especially the delegates “learn” how to use the functions and give feedback, if they experience problems or if they do not understand features – but also to know, where the new featutres are and to use them to their advantage and the benefit of ASCA-events. Personally I think, that the TeamCaptains-Meeting-Report may be one of the strongest improvements for ASCA in the coming weeks! Of course there are some costs connected with this development and modifications, as I still need a professional adviser for difficult questions and for error tracing and also using the development tool requires licence fees.

Account, Revenues and Costs: ASCA last year did not have a financial problem. - The Internet costs (Domaine) are still covered by OS - There was only “selling medals” and no reordering in this year - The trophies ended up almost “break even” – two more are paid and still “on stock” - But the Internet and programming costs needed all the reserves on our account. This was planned, as we have collected the communication fees already for this job – now we have to use the money for it.

Page 2/3

Issued May 2012

ASCA / Airline Sports and Cultural Association Main Issues of “today”: When writing this I had to realize, that the “main issues of today” are the “main issues all the time” – they are almost unchanged since many years! - Publish event details as early and complete as possible to help teams to plan their trip and to secure resources for coming. - Amend sports systems in an appropriate way to avoid cancellations and w/o-results. - Internet and database-functions have to be used quicker, more complete, with cleaner processes and with more handling and contents knowledge especially of delegates. - Adjust rules according to the proposals of those involved to ensure events have more “value for money” and also consider new sports or versions. - Lets find ways to encourage members to join or re-establish contacts My very personal aspects: I still work as a “Freelancer” as the Manager of the visit program at Austrian and therefore have small access to company resources. My “working time” is reduced now and I am present in the office for one or two days per week only. Of course I do a lot of teleworking, and this means, I am “online” continuously. In parallel I started a training in PHP-programming and developing and introducing the ASCA homepage and database became my first and biggest project, which I work for with great joy and enthusiasm – even after midnight!

Closing remarks I hope I can help to continue the impressive tradition and history of ASCA. I also hope, that I will meet you at ASCA events and we all will be proud to be – or have been –part of the ASCA-family.

With best regards Dr.Anton NOVAK m.p. ASCA Chairman Austrian Airlines

ASCA / Airline Sports and Cultural Association Erich Wagner ASCA Information Officer Austrian Airlines

To: Annual General Meeting 2012 Tel Aviv

E-mail: Erich.wagner@austrian.com Vienna, 30. April 2012

Report of the Information Officer Dear delegates and friends of ASCA! My report, referring to the past period since the AGM 2011, includes following topics: -

outcome/ TODO of the AGM 2011/VIE

-

homepage development report / new functions

-

ASCA delegates reminder

-

personal remark

Outcome/ TODO AGM 2011 in VIE All actions from AGM 2011 have been processed and to my opinion there are no open items left. Homepage report As per MAR 2012 Anton Novak and me support ASCA with a new data-base behind the official website. The old database was moved from OS-servers and re-created into the new database, hosted by the same provider as the ASCA webpages since 2010. AUSTRIAN AIRLINES is not involved in hosting anymore except that the costs of the domaine www.asca.cc are still covered by OS. The ongoing process of development has completed the initial phase of creation. Next phases are specific extentions and finetuning.

But we need your help – the help of every delegate ! Please review the pages and data displays like ‘Activities per airline’, ‘ASCA events hosted’, ‘ASCA trophy winners’, ‘Honorary members’, ‘Sport contacts’ and send us your comments, findings or even do the updates you are authorized to perform.

Page 1/3

Issued April 2012

ASCA / Airline Sports and Cultural Association Homepage report (ctnd.): Newest functions:  public Messaging function This feature will help for most actual communication inside the ASCA family. You can select to send a message: -

To a person, out of the contacts database;

-

To a ASCA function group (EXCOM, delegates, captains, ..);

-

To a club-sport via stored ‘activity per airline’;

-

To all contacts of an airline – this may be used by delegates to contact its clubs and captains;

-

To an event host (separate or inclusive all inserted teams ).

 Reporting by pdf documents Manly the “Team Captain’s Meeting Report” should be a milestone for better event organization and flow. This report contains all entered data, some details from the package record, the applicable ASCA-rules of this sport and relevant chapters of the ASCA constitution. This will help to avoid later discussions of rules, gamer status and participating in general. If different rules are applied in a specific event these will be attached as written document. Furthermore there is a page, where all captains have to sign at the Captains Meeting to confirm the correctness of this document and their agreement with the event data. Further Reports are the Package Report, an Event Report (inclusive results and feedback) and a player list for hotel bookings and arrival/departure services.  Alert system Similar to the email-alerts sent from the previous database there is again a system checking accuracy and consistency of data. Compared with before now the sent emails contain a direct link for the requested updates. Alerts can be sent semiautomatic and fully automatic. First alerts will encourage the teams to insert feedback on the visited events.

Page 2/3

Issued April 2012

ASCA / Airline Sports and Cultural Association ASCA delegates

May I remind you on the TODO’s of a delegate: 

review monthly your own hostings (date set?, package published?, teams inserted?, deadlines reached?, ... more),

coordinate with your own sports clubs (date set?, venue set?, package inserted on time?, ..),

insert own sports clubs as “interested” with teamcaptain eMail into event-record

change the status of your entered teams in time – f.i. from “interested” to “confirmed”, if number and travel are fixed,

inform the host, every time an update of the travel party is made,

insert the results of own events as soon as possible into the data base,

review participating teams in own events and request teams to give feedbacks,

prepare for next AGM, what your airline wants to host,

prepare for next AGM an Airline report of situation of clubs and of events hosted,

review, update own data of delegate/ club/ communication/ activities on homepage.

Personal remark I am feeling well in working together with you all, my ambition is still unbroken and therefore I will stand for further services as information officer - if you give me your support and vote.

Closing remark I hope we all will continue to “produce valuable events” for our staff members and for my part my support in the Information part of the ASCA-family will be provided to the best I can.

Airline Sports and Cultural Association Annual General Meeting – Tel Aviv Friday 4th May 2012 Report of the Event Secretary Paul Beck, Lufthansa Frankfurt This is my 5th year as event secretary and unfortunately I won’t be able to join you personally this year. The following is a very short summary of the last 12 months since the AGM in Vienna on the 13th May 2011. Annual sports and culture program for 2011 In 2011 16 events were either cancelled or no event took place (in 2008 13 events were cancelled, in 2009 11 events and 2010 17 events). In comparison 17 events were completed in 2011. An improvement on 2010 where cancellations reached over 50 % of the events offered. However the underlying trend is to say the least not very encouraging. The reasons for the cancellations are different from event to event. All we can do is keep trying (and maybe introduce new events). Of the new events introduced in the last 12t months the Music Gala took place but Triathlon was cancelled. Participating teams and results of each event can be found in the calendar function on our webpage (www.asca.cc). Event program in 2012/2013 and beyond Please also refer to the homepage for events without hosts for the coming year. Once the webpage has stabilised I will be checking the planned host lists beyond 2013. Other items The rules for Badminton have been adapted and approved by the team captains at the DXB event in Sept 2011 and ratified at the Excom meeting in Frankfurt on the 22 nd March 2012. Finally I would like to say again a big THANK YOU to Erich Wagner our information officer for all the help he has given me over the last 12 months. Best regards, Paul Beck – Frankfurt, 4th May 2012

The 2011 report from the Aer Lingus Delegate. ALSAA is very busy at present with a focus for this year on development of facilities and membership growth. We have almost 8,000 members and are attracting more and more teams and clubs each season. Since the last AGM we have signed a top flight soccer club to use our training facilities and have won a health and safety industry award. We continue to improve our facilities for our members. We remarked the athletics track and are now looking at redeveloping the synthetic hockey pitch and building synthetic astro soccer pitches. Due to road widening, we have a new entrance and perimeter wall which is hoped will be safer for our members as well as a much needed facelift to the grounds. Our clubs are performing very well and have had some great successes at all levels. In a climate where most small clubs are struggling to keep memberships, it is reassuring to see clubs continue to function and in some cases increase their membership. We were very successful in ASCA in 2011, winning the Men’s golf, Ladies individual cross country and the men’s individual and team 10 pin bowling competitions. I will be handing over the delegate duties to Maebh Leahy, our new Sports Chief Executive who succeeded our long time delegate, Arthur Mc Swiney in that position. I wish her well and know our membership and the ASCA family of airline members in general will be served very well into the future by her appointment. Jim Mc Evoy Aer Lingus Delegate.

Airline Sports and Cultural Association Annual General Meeting – Tel Aviv Friday 4th May 2012 Report of Stephan Halbe, Delegate of airberlin PLC, Germany This is my first year as official delegate and I won’t be able to attend the meeting this year. Following is a short summary of airberlin´s activity, I have to mention, that we are a member only since January 2012. Annual sports program 2012 In 2012 the airberlin Snowteam participated in the Ski Championships hosted by the Swiss Snow Team. We had a great time and the event was perfectly organised, thanks to the Swiss Organisation Commitee, they did a great job! As I have to present the whole ASCA-programme to the other sports divisions in the airberlin group, it´ll take time, until some more of our teams will join the ASCA events. Event program in 2012/2013 and beyond For 2013 the airberlin Snowteam is proud to host the Ski-Championships, the schedule and other important informations will come out as soon as possible! Finally I would like to say that we are very happy to be part of the ASCA now and that we will do our very best to become an ambassador of airline sports in the future! Thank you all for your efforts and help! Best regards, Stephan Halbe Hamburg, May 4, 2012

ASCA / Airline Sports and Cultural Association Report of the Austrian Airlines Sports Clubs, given at the Annual General Meeting of ASCA 04MAY12, TLV Page 1/2

Dear delegates and friends, You may know, that Austrian Airlines in 2009 has been purchased by Lufthansa after a long, difficult negotiation time. An almost direct result of the merger was (and is) a dramatic reduction of staff, the number of which has dropped from more than 8.000 to approximately 6.000 now. Of course this also had consequences for the Austrian Airlines Sportsclub! You might expect, that also the number of members in the sportsclub has dropped by 25% but – astonishing enough – the sportsclub kept rather stable in number of active members. The most likely reasons are a very good connection with all members due to our webapplication and an Internet access also from outside the company, a special status for retired staff with very comfortable conditions to stay in membership and – most of all – a very intensive life of our sections and a very good climate within the members. The top management of Austrian still is represented in the board of the sportsclub - our CFO is holding the position of the president - and this proves, that the sportsclub is a well accepted part of our company culture and social framework. Meanwhile after closure of our Club House near the old headoffices the sportsclub has found a new “center” and meets in the rooms of the Aviation Campus Vienna, the Training Center of Austrian. This has developed into the new assembly meeting place of the Sportsclub! The number of ASCA events organized, the number of teams sent by OS and the successes achieved will be on display in the ASCA statistics and many more successes in local leagues and competitions could be named. Additionally to sports also the cultural and social side is very active and bus trips, journeys, visits in museums and exhibitions and city sightseeing are a very intensive part of the activities of our clubs.

ASCA / Airline Sports and Cultural Association Report of the Austrian Airlines Sports Clubs, given at the Annual General Meeting of ASCA 04MAY12, TLV Page 2/2

We wish all the delegates a prosperous meeting and the ASCA family a positive development into modern administration, events and communications and look forward to meet many of you - respective your teams – at events in Austria and abroad. As a “Stop Press News” I would like to report, that on the last weekend we had a great Cross Country Running Event with a record number of entries, great competitions and marvellous social sides with City Sightseeing, Gala Dinner and “After Running Party”. This really was ASCA spirit at its best! Responsible for this event was an organizing team, which will also run the Superteam Event in autumn – don’t miss it! Anton Novak OS-Delegate

ASCA REPORT 2012 BA has had a good year despite the economic problems in the UK. Our Concorde Club is managing to turn itself around financially as it becomes more busy than the last few years. Increased numbers are eating in our restaurant, drinking in our bars, booking conferences and attending our social events. For the first time in five years our membership has increased slightly and now stands at nearly 14,000 members, which is very encouraging, although it is associate members joining and not BA staff. Unfortunately though our many sporting and activity sections have not done so well with some having to close due to diminishing membership. The main reason being that BA continue to shed staff with reflects on our Club. This has also affected our participation in ASCA and over the last year BA have taken part in fewer activities, namely rowing, cross country, darts, badminton, tenpin bowling, fishing and sailing. The main reason is that BA staff still enjoy the benefit of free flights when attending ASCA events whereas associate members do not and many sections now consist of mainly associate members. The Concorde Club did host a successful ASCA darts competition in March with Aer Lingus winning both the team and individual events. Our tenpin bowling mens team also won the ASCA competition in Copenhagen last month beating SAS by just 4 pins! This event has become the most successful in ASCA with more members taking part than any other. Apart from ASCA, we do have some successful sections within our Club. Our football players in particular have collected a few trophies in different competitions. Another successful area of our Club is the growing junior activities section which includes junior football, colts cricket and tennis being most popular. The newest activity for children is Pil Sung Do which is a martial art teaching basic techniques for exercise and fun. Since Iberia joined with BA, our Clubs have got together and have held friendly competitions either in London or Madrid. A great vets football match took place here at the Concorde Club followed by a meal and drinks which everyone enjoyed. A return match is taking place next month now in Madrid. A tenpin bowling tournament was held in Madrid which was very enjoyable and our athletes have just taken part in a marathon around the streets of Madrid. The last event arranged will be a chess match being held in London. Of course we are all looking forward to the Olympics taking place in July here in London, with British Airways being one of its sponsors. At the Concorde Club we will be holding our own BA Games event with staff taking part in various sporting activities, to get us in the Olympic spirit! Let us hope that the next year is a better year for ASCA with fewer cancelled events and more ASCA members participating. We wish all delegates a successful year ahead.

ASCA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 3-6 May 2012 Tel Aviv, Israel Cargolux Clubs Report

Dear fellow Delegates, I like firs to express my thanks to EL-AL for organizing this event and apologize for not being able to participate. As you all may know the airlines have their worst crisis and Cargo carriers like us especially as the main income we have is Cargo only, and this right now is rather low. This would be no secret to you either that we undergo enormous cost cutting measurements even to the level that we have to buy our own coffee. Promised myself if one day I will ever make it to a position with decision power like a VP then would do thinks different, it would be now the time to get staff motivated and bring people together, listen to their needs, and try explain to them situation as transparent as possible, any company in this world is with out its people meaningless, low motivated people will harm more a company, but I am afraid am not there yet . I like also thank you the Excom and all ASCA delegates for their dedication to organize events and bring simply people together for the fun factor. CV members are around 100 people, way below as they used to be. Why ? Well it has a lot to do how our Airline is helping us for sports events , actually the only event we get sponsor ship is when we participate to ASCA with 1 ½ per diem coming from the company and the rest the people have to invest themselves, as you can see is a vicious circle. We have following clubs listed in our Sports webpage : Badminton/ Basketball / Bicycling / Football / Golf / Inline Skating / Sailing / Motorcycling / Nautic / Nordic Walking / Running / Sailing / SKI / Squash / Tennis

However we have only following active clubs: Basketball participating it the Luxembourgish cooperate leauque successfully, the club was found back 2004. Bowling, which however mainly organized by our daughter company CCS represented by Nadia Ismail. Football founded in 1979 and participating since this in the Luxembourgish cooperate leaque and various invitations from other airlines including ASCA. Golf founded in 1973 is the most active and organized one, with over 50 members and enough cash flow to sustain alone as club whether the company will or not help financially. Almost every 3rd weekend from May to end of Sep they organize events where members pay a fee and rest is being founded by the club, and believe they have not missed one single ASCA event. Sailing founded back in 2000 by our crewmembers and they are also active and completely independent from financial founding of the company, then again Pilots have different salaries, days off and are very organized, they participate in various competitions but believe never participated in ASCA All other clubs are very irregular maybe SKI a bit more active again due to the pilots association. Message to Excom and the President: ASCA has been always an event where we all have been looking forward to participate and the AGM was always the highlight for us delegates. The thoughts, ideas and concerns from the delegates have been always considered and taken care. However I feel lately the below has come short or this was maybe my own personal feeling and I maybe alone. It’s the same like the company comparison, ASCA with out participants for the games and delegates not able exist anymore. I felt sometimes overruled but as I mentioned this is how I felt. We have had a lot of laughing introducing new Delegate, doing this and that but lately we don’t this anymore either, and while we have an ASCA webpage which is excellent is still people makes events happen failure or success. Wish you all an excellent event and shame cant be there. Shalom Stavros

Dear All, CHAMP will not be able to attend this year's ASCA AGM, due to lack of activities and severe cost saving measures. We have been hosting last year the ten pin bowling tournament, report on such was done at ASCA AGM in Vienna 2011. From May 2011 May 2012, there were no further activities, even so I tried to get a team together for the Superteam. As we are a small company with no official clubs, it is difficult for us to participate, especially when the airlines grant less and less tickets. I put myself a personal goal to come up with a team for Superteam in VIE - please keep fingers crossed. Shall we again fail to come up with a team, I take into consideration to with draw as ASCA delegate at next year's AGM. Please consider this email as the official report from CHAMP. Wishing you a very pleasant time in Tel Aviv and a successful AGM. Best regards from rainy LUX but from Nadia with a lot of sun in her heart.

European Air Transport Report for the ASCA AGM 2012 Tel Aviv, 3 May 2012 Firstly our apologies that neither Heiko Skuballa nor myself can make the way to Tel Aviv this year. The time since the last AGM in Vienna 2011 has been a mixed one from EAT’s sporty perspective. Unfortunately we have not been able to achieve all we aimed for during the least year. Most important, we have successfully agreed to streamline all our sport activities in our sports club 1. SC EAT Leipzig 08, which originally was founded by our footballers in 2008. We will continue to develop this club with the mid-term goal to form a well-organised sports club for our employees, which is a requirement to receive continuing support from our management. Our running section, the “Endurance Team”, just participated in Austrian’s Running Cross Country event in Vienna – a great event we all enjoyed. This event was sponsored by our company, however for upcoming events we will look into ways of improving the sponsoring within the team. Sadly we have not been able to participate in the Alpine Skiing event hosted by swiss, mainly due to a lack of interest because of rather high costs. The Beach Volleyball event we planned to host in Leipzig this summer had to be postponed. Generally the idea is highly supported by both employees and management, however it was considered to be too early to host an event, as the company is tied up with the phase-in of our new A300-600 fleet in 2012. Nevertheless, we intend to host this event in summer 2013. Outside ASCA events, our athletes participated in several regional competitions during the last year. We strive for further participation in ASCA events associated with running, alpine skiing and football in 2012/2013. Best regards André Weber

ASCA / Airline Sports and Cultural Association. Report on the situation and features of the Icelandair Sports Club to the Annual General Meeting of ASCA May 4th 2012 in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Icelandair Group - STAFF: STAFF (Starfsmannafélag Flugleiða, later Icelandair Group) is the organization of employes at Icelandair Group. Within STAFF are around 1700 members and it runs its own office. STAFF was established, May 26th 1977 making it 35 years old. Bergþóra Kristín Garðarsdóttir (Begga), Flight Attendant Icelandair, is the Chairman of STAFF today. Icelandair has been a member of ASCA since 1978. Two of former ASCA Delegates served as ExCom members 1991 - 1996 as Information Officers. Bjargey Elíasdóttir 1991 and Erla Halldórsdóttir 1992 - 1996. Bergþóra Kristín Garðarsdóttir (Begga) served as ASCA Delegate of Icelandair since 2004 - 2012 and since 2008 also as an ExCom member. Icelandair is very proud to introduce a new ASCA Delegate, Harpa Sif Jóhannsdóttir, who is now attending her first AGM as a Delegate and is replacing Begga (Bergþóra Kristín Garðarsdóttir). STAFF organizes events for employes of Icelandair Group, such as the great annual ball, which is the biggest event over the year. STAFF owns 5 summer houses in Iceland, an apartment in Spain (Fuengerola) and an apartment in Orlando, Florida, which members of STAFF can rent at a reasonable price. STAFF also owns a place, “Stélið” where the clubs can meet and where we can host smaller events and give parties. STAFF is a member of ASCA on behalf of Icelandair Group under the name of the airline, Icelandair. Within STAFF we have 12 clubs and some of them are very active. The members of the clubs are around 800.

The Golf Club of Icelandair Group is one of the largest clubs and very active. They plan their own activities and they attend ASCA events. The Cross Country Club of Icelandair Group is smaller, but very active and they plan their own activities - i.e. the famous Icelandair Run every year. They attend ASCA events and are now ASCA winners in man and women cross country 2012 which was held in Vienna last weekend - hosted by Austrian Airlines. The Chess Club of Icelandair Group is a small club and has been strong through the years and attends all ASCA events. The Bridge Club of Icelandair Group has been very active, attends ASCA events and other worldwide events. The Bowling Club of Icelandair Group is not big, but always attends ASCA events with the spirit of ASCA to take part, get to know people and have fun. The Dart Club, the Fishing Club of Icelandair Group and the Badminton Club of Icelandair Group exist, but are not very out going at the moment. The Hiking Club of Icelandair Group is a very popular club that meets every week and makes all kinds of walking and hiking in various places. In the fall most of the clubs advertise at our mywork webpage where all the employes can gather information about what is going on within our company, Icelandair Group, and with in STAFF and welcome new members. Proudly I can still say that our CEO of Icelandair Group, Björgólfur Jóhannsson and CEO of Icelandair, Birkir Hólm Guðnason, still support STAFF and ASCA like they have done the past years - taking care of tickets for the clubs to attend ASCA events. STAFF continues to help members that attend ASCA events to cut down the cost for each individual team member with an allowance of aprox. EUR 100. Last year the Chess Club and the Basketball Club hosted ASCA events in Iceland - both went well and those who visited and took part enjoyed the events. Still I would like to emphazise the importance of the function of the Delegates of ASCA. Without active Delegates it is not possible for ASCA to work. The Delegates need to do their jobs in communication and passing on to the clubs the information they receive promptly. An active and enthusiastic Delegate is a great value to ASCA and it´s function. When accepting to be an ASCA Delegate, each person takes over the responsiblity to keep ASCA a life and going. It is also a major responsibility to attend the ASCA AGM which is held once a year. To meet other Delegates and ExCom members keep the ASCA family and spirit going and the light of ASCA illuminated. Event though we, the nation of Iceland, have gone through rough times in past years, we still know how to smile and enjoy life. We like to attend to the ASCA events - even though Icelandair does not fly to the destinations where the events are hosted. When Icelandair is hosting an ASCA event - and an airline in the ASCA family does not have an ID agreement with FI - we help out and provide the tickets needed for the team. The importance of the AGM is not only to discuss the funtion of ASCA and the events, but more to get to know each other, to know what other clubs/airlines are doing and to strengthen the most important thing - the friendship, the communication and the to be in touch.

As always I hope this AGM will be a productive and successful one and the we will find solutions that will bring ASCA into the future and help us to make ASCA events as successful as they used to be. At the AGM I would like to propose that the next AGM in 2013 will be held in Iceland, as that will be my last meeting to attend and I would like to say good by. Best regards to all of you, Begga, Vice President of ASCA and former ASCA Delegate of Icelandair

SWISS Activity report 2011 for the ASCA meeting in Tel Aviv Dear colleagues, Dear delegates of the ASCA, I can compare the situation of our sport teams with the world economy; no major changes, all at status quo with minor up and downs. SWISS flying club As already mentioned in my last year’s report, the flying club took off.

Golf team The golf team participated at the golf tournament in Stockholm. Unfortunately I received notes from the team captain that he will not be any more available due to changes in his business life. Soccer/football team Our football (soccer) team travelled ‘around’ the world, playing in various tournaments, not all under the umbrella of ASCA. Here as well, the captain mentioned that in 2012 he will not be available any more. Badminton team The badminton team participated in two tournaments; they were impressed by the Emirates one the other was in Montreal. Running team Last but not least; our running team went to many events, yet none was under the patronage of a ASCA member. Strong interest was shown from employees for mountain and cycling which led to the foundation of a mountain team. Family sport day Last September the combined SWISS sport teams organized a family sport day. A lot of advertising was made, as we wanted to make the sport team more known, show what they do, and hopefully gain some additional members. All was wrapped in soccer and badminton tournament, teams or individuals were able to register the team or themselves via SWISS intranet. We also had foreseen for refreshment, barbecue ice cream, coffee and cakes. After the closing day we only had 3 soccer and 4 badminton teams, totaling of 33 participating SWISS employees. So we were left with no other choice than to cancel the event.

SWISS Activity report 2011 for the ASCA meeting in Tel Aviv

Not enough with this; we also wanted to have a common sport suit for our sport teams. A committee out of the sport teams was formed, sport suit producers where invited, and our marketing department (corporate identity) approached. As we were in the process of making a final decision the board of directors approved a new logo. Therefore our marketing department was blocked and not able to help us further and postponed to 2012. Some information about SWISS sport teams:    

Each sport team received a budget of CHF 2’500 (Euro 2’100) to cover the enrolment, per-diem and other costs. In case a sport team is hosting an ASCA event, more funds will be made available. Our marketing department supports us with caps, shirts etc. All ground staff employee are granted 2 additional day off when participating in a tournament (by the decision of the team captain) All official team members receive stand-by tickets with the best priority to the tournaments.

Kind regards, Jean-Pierre SWISS ASCA delegate

ANNUAL REPORT 2012

Three years have passed and a new Board has been elected in 12 April 2012. Again we have been committed in pursuit of the path traced in the beginning of the year and managed to maintain balanced the accounts of the Club, despite the demands of our times. It was opened a new space in our headquarters, the store "new use" which gave a bit more movement. We have still the aim of trying to install a chemist at the premises of the Club. It was remodeled the concept of the Future Sports Complex, with significant changes and still waiting of approval by the city hall. As in previous years we continue with the objectives of reorganization of the entire administrative structure, support to Members, Culture and Sports activities of CLUB TAP PORTUGAL. We will continue the policy of cost containment and systematization of the systems in order to provide better utilization of material and human resources available to the Club.

The Club still has around 10.000 associates. In preparing the Budget and Business Plan for 2012, the Sport Club is studding each Club one by one, and clubs that are stagnant and not considered to add value to the Club, will end.

Despite having been a bad year for economic for Portugal and the future is not looking better, some of our Clubs will organize events in which it is hoped some financial compensation and for our Club in particular, and pleased to highlight the great work that´s was done by the Sports section and Culture in this matter. ASCA Events that the Club took part since May 2011: Fishing in Rome, Champions Golf in Stockholm Basket in Reykjavik, 2nd Place Superteam The Golf Club is still responsible of all the Golf tournaments of the company, TAP Portugal. We have 3 TAP Victoria (2 in Portugal/1 in Brasil), which are only for frequent flyers, with a large membership in each one (100 players). And OPEN TAP, the oldest and most important Amateur tournament in Portugal (300 players) that is open to all players around the world. The Football Club in a joint organization with Brazil CUP last year was a huge success, with more than 300 participants, from all around the world. The strategy of Club TAP is to find ways and give our associates conditions to practice the best way their favorite sports, and with this line of thought we hope of being able to develop and streamline on all activities within the Club, and a bring that thought for ASCA events. Indeed, and so much regret, we also continue to see that the younger population of the TAP Group still does not adhere to cultural activities and recreation, with limited exceptions.

Example of that are our groups of "Folklore and Song," which despite our appeals do not get the accession of new elements, which in the near future jeopardize its continuity. Also in the activities of a more recreational, but also with a cultural dimension, it appears that the participants are invariably the same, (and seniors, which on the one hand we like as it shows that they are satisfied with the product offered), but on the other again demonstrates that young people still do not join. During the year 2011 emphasize improved outcomes in the following activities: Birthday Club, Tour, Carnival, and Cruises. We show also the realization for the first time by our club, under the Asca, the event "Super Team" and its remarkable success, recognized by all participating teams from other companies. Annual General Meeting Tel Aviv 2012

Alexander Sappl ASCA Delegate Tyrolean Airways

Annual Report: Dear delegates and friends of ASCA,

Unfortunately, I can not be with you in Tel Aviv this weekend but I hope you have a good time and lots of fun. First of all, I want to thank the ASCA Executive Committee for their professional work. You really do a good job in all. Very special to mention is the new ASCA homepage! Like other airlines too, Tyrolean has a „voluntary - one man“ based organsiation for our Airline Sports and Cultural Association. Regarding ASCA, the mail adresses of my delegates are the main tool to provide them with the necessary information. We still have members in the section Alpine Skiing, Football, Golf and Sailing. But the last years showed me a negative membership trend. I hope that this trend could be reversed in future and we will be able again to send teams for the ASCA events. Actually, Tyrolean was the organizer for the Alpine Ski event in 2013 in Austria. But I was asked, if Tyrolean could pass this event to Air Berlin. As a newcomer to the ASCA family, Air Berlin would like to host this event and I agreed. I welcome Air Berlin and wish them all the best. We definitely will experience a great skiing event. Unfortunately, Tyrolean couldn´t accept any ASCA events in the last year. Even, it was not possible to send enough members to events. Reasons for this is the tense situation in the whole os-group, leisure and money! I hope, that this negative trend will come to an end soon and Tyrolean will be able to host again in the near future. We are looking forward to welcome you in Austria. Best regards Alexander Sappl Tyrolean ASCA Delegate
