EMU ARTS 2016–2017

Eastern Michigan University Arts — art, dance, music, and theatre — invite you to experience a world of creativity, spontaneity, and discovery through our 2016 and 2017 exhibitions, events, and performances. This calendar highlights theatre performances, art exhibitions, concerts, and recitals featuring students, faculty, and guest artists. This year marks a change. Three departments, Music & Dance, Communication, Media, & Theatre Arts, and the Art Department have been renamed as the School of Music & Dance, the School of Communication, Media, & Theatre Arts, and the School of Art & Design. These changes in name: • Represent the broad spectrum and breadth of arts programming and education on campus. • Create an allied arts identity on campus. • Symbolize the University’s ongoing goal of achieving national accreditation for all of its arts programs. The Arts serve a pivotal role on EMU’s campus. Our programs seek to challenge conventions and investigate new ways of working, thinking, and communi cating. The Arts provide a voice for expression and the ability to communicate to diverse audiences. Ultimately they bring people together and unify communities.
