Bellavista is an ecological Italian restaurant in Manchester. The restaurant has been inspired by the building ‘Chapel in Valleaceron’ and the building was inspired by folded boxes. Bellavista means ‘Beautiful view’ and so the interior and exterior of the resort are seamless with the surroundings of modern architecture.

The logo is modern and simplistic similar to the layout of the menus and the colour scheme derives from the concrete structure, and the blue sky of Almadenejos.

Bellavista is a high end restaraunt and it will be an experience so the interior will all match. From the door handles to the lamp shades. There will be a dinig area and the seasonal menues will be at the table as you sit down

One of my deliverables is a door handle I lasor cut from Oak. I decided to use the logo so that the customer can get the feel of the restaraunt as soon as they walk in.

Page 5/6

The billing slip is also folded up so the customers can interact with it and to take the edge off the scary bill. There is even an envelope so when you get mail, it will stand out from the rest similar to the letter head and this is a good promotion techneque to get new customer. Page 6/6

Live Brief I started on work placement to design a homepage for a website. The company is a studio specialising in music for children’s animation, film, commercials etc. They are based in central Manchester and are not very reconised so they want a more vibrant and eyecatching website. Page 1/3

The content was to remain pretty much the same, however the layout and colours are much bolder. I chose black and orange to match the beautiful photographs they sent me. I wanted to really focus on the photographs as they are very welcoming and impressive and also stand out alot on a black background.

I decided to take the brief further by designing and making a promotional Specific Requirments booklet, flyer and buissness cards. These will be handed out in and around the Booklet Standard A4 297mm X 210mm city of Manchester to promote the studio. Buissness cards standard 54mm X 86mm Flyer Standard A5 210mm X 148mm Page 2/3

The promotional booklet is just an insight of what the website will hold and will be free to pick up in music and instrument shops . It will contain a buissness card in the front of the magazine so that people can get in contact and also a disk placed in the back of the magazine so people can listen to samples of Pluto music’s work. Page 3/3

The back cover has an ad for a pair of headphones which will give the buissness a larger audience and make the company more recognisable.

The type face itself is very illustrative and came from the idea of structural architecture. It is based on Helvetica as I found it ubiquitous similar to the buildings that surround us. It will be available to purchace online to designers at a cost. Page 2/5

The French folded book will be given out as a sample to have a look at the typeface on paper, It includes a little story about where it came from and it has a page where it is used in a sentence but mainly it is just focusing on the individual letters. Page 3/5

Some screen printed bags will also be available, it could be a gift with someones initial or just a handy bag to keep for yourself. Once you have purchaced the typeface, the user will recieve this bag holding the French fold booklet and also a fold out A2 poster of the type. Page 4/5

Brief The International Society of Typographic Designers asked to explore plants in their broadest form. I discovered ‘fleurons’ which is a Victorian means of communication where by plants and flowers hold specific meanings. I decided to create an alphabet with the letters representing flowers and their meaning. Page 1/3

Concept Develop an eye catching and informative outcome that interprets and celebrates plants and the concept of garden and its role in our lives. It was a very open brief as I had the choice of print or screen just as long as it is informative and clearly shows my typographic skills.

Context My aim was to stay away from print so I decided to hand render a typeface and make a range of A1 posters by laser cutting the type for a nice and original finish.

‘Not just Fleurons’ is the title of the brief so I decided to keep this and use it as the main focus of the poster. It is a hand rendered typeface inspired by spiralling petals of flowers. It is very feminine so the target audience is women who want to spice up their garden. Page 2/3

Concept Basics of Type is a book about the elements of typography. The aim is to show new designers, writers, & students the ways of typography, by learning the elements of letter forms and layout on a page. This book is is part of the Ellen Lupton family of books, it is pocket sized and cut down so that you can carry it around and refere to it while studying or at work.

It is informative as well as visually attractive with pages of quotes from famous typographers and images to help explain the basics of type.

Page 2/3

Concept There is also a website you can access to get even more information and also links to other useful typographic sights. The website is very clean and easy to access with interactive games and arcticles to become an expert on typography. Page 3/3
