IF GARDENS COULD TALK

INTRODUCTION The front garden makes up a large part of the exterior representation of a home. Using the front garden as a focal point, we test whether people care what other people may think, through the act of factual itemisation. The highly visible nature of a front garden lends itself perfectly to an experiment of this nature. The experiment consists of three phases: • inventory of garden contents on one street • postcards sent to each home, including inventory of their garden’s contents and an email address for potential enquiries • re-visit & renewed inventory
