Construction

This project is composed of five steps that will be worked on in this order: The front of the dress working from the waist to the bust, the armholes and the strips of the top. The waist to the back and the blocking of the pieces. Union of the pieces together to create the top. Joining the bottom of the dress. Making the sleeves of the dress.

Yllene is a super cozy oversized cardigan that will become an essential in your wardrobe. You can wear it casual with a t-shirt and pair of jeans, or you can dress it up with a cute midi dress and a belt over the waist. This design is simple but timeless, you can make in different colours and yarns to adapt it to the other seasons of the year!

Construction

The pattern is worked in 5 pieces. The back and two fronts worked bottom up in rows. We seam these 3 pieces together to form the body and leaving space for the armholes. The sleeves are made directly from the body, top down working in rounds turning back and forth. Gauge 13 hdc in 9 rows with a 5,5 mm hook = 10 x 10 cm

Pattern

Front (x2) With the 5,5 mm hook make 29 ch. The first 2ch of each row count as the 1rst hdc. Row 1: in the 3rd ch from hook, hdc 1 for each st across the row. Turn, you have 28 hdc. Row 2-48: ch 2, hdc 1 for each st across the row. Turn, you have 28 hdc. Back Make 67 ch. The first 2ch of each row count as the 1rst hd. Chocolate cookies by Laura Hojman First of all, to enhance the flavor, caramelise the butter. To do so, put it in a saucepan over medium heat and stir it so that it doesn’t burn. When it turns golden brown, take it off the heat and set it aside. In a bowl, mix the eggs with the sugar and beat well. Add the butter little by little, making sure it’s not too hot. Add the salt and the vanilla and mix well. Add the flour with the previously sifted baking powder and continue mixing everything with a wooden spoon until the dough has no lumps. Now add the chopped chocolate and mix again until it’s well distributed throughout the dough. Save a little bit of the chocolate to decorate the cookies. If the dough is hot because of the butter, let it cool down for a while so that it’s not too soft and we

can shape it. Distribute the dough in 50 or 60 g balls, either with the help of an ice-cream scoop or using a kitchen scale. Finish giving form to the dough with the hands and place them on the oven tray lined with baking paper well separated one from another. Place the reserved chocolate pieces on each of the balls. Once ready, put them in the oven preheated to 180ยบC or 200ยบC (depending on the type of oven) for 10 minutes. Once took out of the oven, let them rest on a rack so that they get crunchy.

Creamy cheesecake

Mix the cream cheese with the cream, sugar and the pinch of salt until everything is blended. Add the flour and eggs one by one. Whip it well. Pour the mixture into a round, removable mould, well lined with baking paper. Preheat the oven, with heat up and down, to 200º and introduce the dough for approximately 40 minutes (depending on the power of the oven). The trick is not to overcook it so it doesn’t curdles too much, as we want it to be creamy. Next, let it cool to room temperature. When it has cooled down, remove the mould and decorate it with strawberries, cherries, red berries or other types of fruit, and a few mint leaves. It’s delicious too without any decoration, but the fruit gives it the perfect fresh touch.

Pattern

It’s crocheted with a double row. Take two threads and crochet them at the same time. Cast on 50 chain stitches. Crochet one round with single crochets and finish it crocheting another round of single crochets around the chain stitches. R1-18: crochet all the rounds with single crochets but not around it, only on one side, in flat. R19: crochet all the round with single crochets and finish it by crocheting on the side edge 20 single crochets. Continue crocheting 50 single crochets and keep on crocheting on the side edge another 20 single crochets. Bind off with a slip stitch. Now, lift the body of the bag from the base and crochet in the round. Body R1: 1 raised chain stitch + crochet all the round with single crochets on the back thread (this way the fabric will be lifted). Crochet all the round and finish with a slip stitch. R2-7: 3 raised chain stitches + crochet all the round with double crochets + bind off with a slip stitch. Repeat from *_* until the end of the round and bind off with a slip stitch. R9, 11, 13: 3 raised chain stitches + 2 chain stitches + skip 2 stitches without crocheting + 1 single crochet + *5 chain stitches + 1 single crochet on the third double crochet of the group of 5 double crochets from the previous round*. Repeat *_* all the round and bind off with a slip stitch. R14: 3 raised chain stitches + crochet in each hole of the chain stitches from the previous round 5 double crochets + 1 double crochet on the single crochet from

the previous round throughout the entire round. Bind off with a slip stitch. Handle Make the handle on round 15. Bind off with a slip stitch. The form of the handle is already done. R16: crochet a whole round of slip stitches around the bag and continue on the handle. When finishing, bind off with a slip stitch and cut and hide all the threads. The handle has a reinforcement that I’ve made by rolling around each handle a stretched thread of Rafia. Wrap it little by little and tighten enough so that it looks the same and doesn’t wrinkle.

Grapefruit lemonade Gin tonic by Laura Hojman Prepare the homemade lemonade with the juice of three lemons and a grapefruit (the grapefruit flavor is peculiar so, if you aren’t used to it, add just one), two tablespoons of sugar and half a glass of well-chilled water. Flavor the glasses with a slice of lemon and some peel strips of the grapefruit using a peeler to make it thin. Make sure not to add the white part that makes it bitter. Add some ice cubes, the gin (as wished), a drop of bitter lemon (also as wished) and finally the lemonade. Mix carefully. We recommend flavor it with herbs as wished.

Please note the sizes will vary slightly depending on what yarn weight you use. Use hook size recommended on yarn band. Your chain 1 st at the beginning of each row does NOT count as a st. Large Scrunchie Foundation Rnd: Chain 10. Join with sl st in first ch to form a ring around elastic band, avoiding any twists. Small Scrunchie Foundation Rnd: Chain 5. Join with sl st in first ch to form a ring around elastic band, avoiding any twists. Both Sizes Rnd 1: 1 htr in each st, do not join. Both Sizes Rnd 2 Onwards: 1 htr in each st working in a continuous spiral around hair elastic, turning as you go. Once your work starts to meet up, keep going so your work bunches up and creates a more scrunched effect. When the elastic is fully stretched and you’re happy with how it looks, fasten off leaving a 45” tail end for Large scrunchie and 35” tail end for Small scrunchie.


Edging: Sl st into 1st st, 1 dc, 1 htr, 1 tr, 1 dtr. Fasten off leaving tail end. Join yarn with sl st on foundation row opposite 1st sl st made on the opposite edge, 1 dc, 1 htr, 1 tr, 1 dtr. Fasten off and weave in ends. Small Bow Foundation Row: 4 ch, 1 dc in 2 nd ch st from hook, 1 tr, 1 dc in last st, 1 ch, turn. < 3 sts > Pattern cont’d Row 1: 1 tr in 1st st, 1 dc, 1 tr in last st, 1 ch, turn. Row 2: 1 dc in 1st st, 1 tr, 1 dc in last st, 1 ch, turn. Repeat row 1 and 2 until your work measures around 23”. You will always work a tr into a dc and a dc into a tr. I worked 72 rows in total. Before starting the edging do NOT chain 1, just turn your work. Edging: Sl st into 1st st, 1 dc, 1 tr. Fasten off leaving tail end. Join yarn with sl st on foundation row opposite 1st sl st made on the opposite edge, 1 dc, 1 tr. Fasten off and weave in ends. I recommend blocking your work now as sometimes it can curve as you crochet. Both sizes: Lay work flat as pictured below, crossing left side over right and

adjust to create the bow size you want. Using tail end from scrunchie, wrap it around the centre of your bow and through the centre of the scrunchie to secure it into place. Using tapestry needle, weave in tail end under centre of bow at the back a few times to secure.

Apple pie with frosting by Laura Hojman Chop 2 apples and a half or three, as wished, and save them for later. If you like to find the pieces in the cake, chop them bigger, if not, smaller. Now, beat the eggs and sugar well with electric sticks for about 5 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy, light-colored and thick. Add the zest and the lemon juice to the mixture. Also, add the oil and the yogurt and mix. Sieve the flour with the baking powder and add it to the mixture. Finally, add the apple pieces and distribute them well throughout the dough. Pour all the mixture into a previously greased mould and bake in a preheated oven at 175ºC for about 50 minutes or until the cake is punctured and the stick comes out clean. If the surface is too brown but it’s not yet done inside, cover it

Ingredients - 1 greek yogurt - 3 eggs - 225 g flour - 220 g sugar - 75 ml soft olive oil - 15 g baking powder - 4 sweet apples Golden type - 1 lemon - Butter - 300 g powdered sugar - A dash of liquid cream


with aluminum foil. Once out of the oven, let it cool and remove from the mould. Meanwhile, prepare the frosting. To do this, pour the powdered sugar into a bowl and gradually add the liquid cream while stirring with a few sticks. It’ll be ready when it has the consistency of a greek yogurt. Once the cake has cooled, pour the frosting on top and wait a few minutes for it to solidify. Finally, decorate it with the pieces of apple that were saved as you like.
