Optimise a drawing
Image > Adjustments > Levels Select black and white droppers
Image > Adjustments > Selective Colour Tweak white, neutrals and blacks till image reaches the best black/white combination
Image > Adjustments > Brightness/ Contrast As a last resort adjust brightness / contrast if required. Last step use brush to erase any errors if they appear
Vectorise drawing Live Trace > Tracing Options... Tweak settings focusing on blur and minimum area Expand Right-click - Ungroup To remove white: select one white object then Select > Same > Appearance or click Ignore White in Tracing Options if creating outlines for cutting: Select object Object > Expand
Right-click - Release compound path

File > New > Document Insert document dimensions under page size or choose a default from the drop-down menu Click More Options to show bleed settings, add 3mm bleed [Facing pages for books, deselect for individual pages]

Including solid, dotted, dashed lines... Text wrap options change the way text wraps around the selected image/object

pages: Master Pages Insert any elements here that you would like to become a template for the page. Click and drag master page onto required page. Page Functions Left to right Page Size, select specific size for a selected page New Page, add a page after the current selected page Delete, click and drag page onto bin layers:

Create a new layer bottom right To move an object to a layer: select object, see colour block appear in layers, click and drag that colour block into the correct layer
Text Select text tool, click and drag to create a text block. Paste text into the text block. Apply paragraph and character styles to text.

Exporting General Settings Page Functions On the top bar select either High Quality Print [to send to printer] or Smallest File Size [to send over email] To Print Deselect Spreads Marks and bleeds - select Crop Marks only Use Document Bleed Settings this will take settings inserted when first creating the document To Email Select Spreads Select Hyperlinks if they are included within your document Marks and bleeds - deselect all Use Document Bleed Settings must be deselected.
