112 professional fine and applied artists, designers and galleries in 2015 31,116 studio visits in 2015 12,000 full colour 85+ page catalogue £127,000 of artwork sales in 2015 C-Art is Cumbria’s largest visual arts event, encompassing open studios, gallery open days and special events across Cumbria. In this, it’s sixth year, C-Art will also award 3 artists with the Cumbrian Artist of the Year, the People’s Choice and the Young Cumbrian Artist of the Year Award. The C-Art sponsorship scheme enables specially selected businesses and organisations to have the opportunity to be involved through corporate sponsorship, affiliating you with an exciting initiative which puts Cumbria’s visual arts on the map. Supported by Arts Council England and developed in partnership with Cumbria Tourism, C-Art exists to; • promote Cumbria’s artists and designers. • encourage cultural visitors to the county and increase artwork sales for both galleries and artists. • be a platform for collective marketing and professional development for artists and designers. • celebrate the breadth of contemporary and traditional visual art, craft and design to be found in the Lake District and across Cumbria.

In 2016, the C-Art event will feature; • The Cumbrian Artist of the Year exhibition and awards held at The Gallery at Rheged, in association with Cumbria Life. • Young Cumbrian Artist of the Year award for Cumbrian Artists aged 15-24 • Young Curators scheme for applicants aged 16-24 with the opportunity to select the CAOTY exhibition and visit a prestigious London art school • Year round website and catalogue directory of Cumbrian visual and applied artists. • Regional and national press and marketing campaign. • Professional development programme for visual artists and designers. • C-Art catalogue and website developed into a definitive A-Z year round directory of visual arts in Cumbria.


Sponsorship lasts for one year, from 1 May 2015 - 1 May 2016. We welcome discussion from potential sponsors on the development of new ideas, promotional events and brand partnerships. Sponsors will be acknowledged in the following ways;

Two awards are available for sponsorship: The Young Cumbrian Artist of the Year and The Cumbrian Artist of the Year

In kind support If you feel you may be able to offer an alternative way of supporting C-Art, such as publicity and advertising, event catering, distribution or opportunities for our members then we’d love to hear from you. We welcome ideas for promotional collaboration and brand partnerships, so please do get in touch, C-Art is supported by limited public funding, but more importantly by participant membership fees. By sponsoring C-Art you not only enable us to sustain and develop the event for future years to come, you are also directly supporting local artists and designers, helping to nuture and protect the diverse and unique visual arts community that makes Cumbria so attractive to tourists.
