ETBU Opens Great Commission Center

East Texas Baptist University opened the Great Commission Center by hosting generous donors of the project during a ceremony last Friday. Dittmar named 76th Senior Girl Call Out

Mollie Dittmar of Buffalo, Texas, was recognized during East Texas Baptist University’s 76th annual Senior Girl Call-Out. Selected by a faculty and staff vote, the senior student “called out” each year is distinguished for her exemplary Christian character, social consciousness, personal poise, academic achievement, and spiritual vision.

Four Inducted into Athletics Hall of Fame

The 2023 ETBU Athletics Hall of Fame class of Jill Boyd (volleyball), Chad Glover (football), Nathan Haas (baseball), and Sade "Slim" Stewart (women's basketball) were inducted during a ceremony in April.

"We are extremely proud to induct these four incredibly deserving individuals into the East Texas Baptist University Tiger Athletics Hall of Fame," said Ryan Erwin, Vice President for Student Engagement and Athletics. "Each Hall of Fame member helped shape the history of our great university and athletics department in their own unique and special way, and we were happy to celebrate with them and their family and friends."

Thank A Giver Day

ETBU students took time last week to express their sincere thanks to the generous donors and alumni who have contributed to making their "Home on the Hill" what it is today. As part of TAG (Thank A Giver) Day, students posted pictures on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram throughout campus celebrating the scholarships, beautiful facilities, and ongoing support they benefit from daily.

Day of Prayer

Alumni and friends of the instituion are invited to join the ETBU Campus Community in observing the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 4, 2023. You may opt-in to receive custom-created prayer prompts throughout the day on May 4. Join the ETBU National Day of Prayer One-Day email list.

For Tigers living near Marshall, you are invited to gather downtown on the north lawn of the Historic Courthouse as we collectively read through the Bible between 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 4. *Subway sandwiches and bottled water are provided. RSVP to participate in the Bible Reading downtown.

On the Hill, the Faculty and Staff are encouraged to spend a few moments in the Patsy Smith Prayer Ministry Room in Scarborough Hall or the Prayer Room in the Great Commission Center and pray intently for our community, nation, and world. In whatever way you are able to join us, we hope you’ll pray throughout the day.

ETBU Dedicates Jason Bell Park

East Texas Baptist University honored Jason Bell and his family on April 1 with the dedication of Jason Bell Park at Taylor Field, home to ETBU Tiger softball. Bell has generously assisted in constructing and installing artificial turf at ETBU's baseball, football, and softball fields. Read more

ETBU Cheer and Pom Earn Second at Nationals

Competing in a national competition for the first time since 1994, ETBU cheer and pom earned a second-place finish at the National Cheer Association/National Dance Association College Nationals in the "Game Day" competition. Read more.
