GENERATIONAL TRAUMA TREATMENT SERVICES
Easterseals MORC is proud to offer Generational Trauma Treatment Services. Join us for Phase A, a six-week caregiver education group for parents of children who have experienced trauma. All sessions use the Intergenerational Trauma Treatment Model (ITTM) and build on one another, attendance at each session is required.
ITTM - Model Mission:
Providing education in a supportive format
Empowering the caregiver to be the expert of their child
Re-evaluating assumptions about the effects of trauma on the child
Model Approach - 3 Phases:
Phase A: In phase A, we focus on providing parents with information about how we are going to look at trauma behaviors
*Many individuals only complete Phase A and find great help from the information alone.
Phase B: In phase B, the caregiver will have one to one session with a clinician. (Usually for 3-7 sessions)
Phase C: We will meet you and your child, likely for 3-4 sessions You are in the room with us every step of the way Homework: Every week you will be given homework which is designed to move you quickly through each phases of the model and onto the next
