How does it work?

It uses rapid sets of eye movements to help your brain process traumatic or difficult experiences. This allows the individual to be able to move forward and not have such intense emotional reactions to different events whether in the past, present, or future,

Who can benefit from EMDR?

Both children and adults can benefit from this type of treatment. It can help with many different mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and abuse.

How long is treatment?

Being in the school-based program, each appointment will be 30 minutes if occurring during school hours. EMDR is a process and can last from a few weeks up to months, depending on the severity of the condition being treated

There may be times when sessions will be recommended to occur virtually after school hours due to the intensity of the session

How do I sign my child up for EMDR?

Contact your child’s therapist and tell them you ’ re interested in starting this for your child They will also be able to answer any questions you may have about EMDR

NOTE: Before services can start, a consent form will be sent home to be signed This form must be signed and dated before services can begin
