Caroline Lobel

Letter from our LTG How’s it going Gaels?! My name is Caroline Lobel and I proudly serve you all as Division 26 South’s Lieutenant Governor. I’m a rising senior over at Dougherty Valley High School and in my fourth and final term of serving in Key Club. My main job is to act as a liaison between the California-Nevada-Hawaii District and all 10 Key Clubs in our division, including Dublin! To clarify my role as Lt. Governor and explain how it relates to you, I’m going to start with the fact that Key Club is a multilevel organization. On the club level, you have your officer board who works hard to serve you. They lead club meetings and provide events to members only within Dublin. On the division level, I provide guidance to the officer boards and the 10 clubs they serve, with Dublin being one of them. I work with the Division Leadership Team to provide events for all 10 clubs to attend at once, such as division council meetings, fundraisers, and more service projects. Additionally, I give tips to club on both our CNH District and D26S. I’ll be here to support you ALL, not just your club officers, throughout the entire term, so please reach out to me if you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns!

Always serving with a SMILE,

Ms. Sheaff

Letter from our falculty adviosr Hi Key Club! I miss you all. Tuesdays at lunch will always be special (when our club meets), and I have to say that my Tuesdays haven't felt right since back in March! I'm so proud of your continued efforts to give back, despite the limitations during this pandemic. You all are wonderful people and I look forward to meeting again soon. Much love!

Yashika gupta

letter from your editor Hey Blue Devils! I am your editor, Yashika Gupta and I am so excited about this term! Welcome to our first newsletter as a club! I am a rising junior this year! I have been baking a lot during quarantine. Especially banana bread:) I am currently trying new recipes that have been so much fun. I have been doing community college classes which have been keeping me busy. I have been trying to learn Italian which has been pretty fun. I have been spending way too much time on TikTok which sometimes takes up most of my days. Some of my favorite hobbies are playing tennis, doing calligraphy, bullet journaling, hiking, and hanging out with my friends! I know this term is not what any of us expected, but I promise that everything will get better. Please wear your masks and continue social distancing!!

Richard Chung

Letter from your president Hey Blue Devils! If you do not know me already, my name is Richard Chung, and I proudly serve you as your president for the 2020-2021 term! I am going to be a Junior this year! Some of my favorite things to do in m free time are playing volleyball, hanging out with friends, and listening to music. In quarantine, I have been baking more, watching more shows on Netflix, and working on community college work. Some fun facts about me are that I am also one of the division spirit coordinators, I play volleyball for our school, and my favorite genre of music is RnB which stands for rhythm and blues. I am so excited to work with you this year, and I hope you are all excited to serve the community this year! I hope you all are still having fun during quarantine and staying busy!  Don't forget to keep serving blue devils!

Deya Liao

Letter from your Vice President Hi! My name is Deya Liao and I’ll be serving as your Vice President this year. I’m currently a rising senior & I’m super excited for everyone to know more about key club! KC is honestly such an expansive organization throughout the US, and I’ve met so many nice people through this club. I love playing sports (specifically badminton), doing art, playing the guitar + ukulele (instruments I’ve learned during quarantine), and simply talk with my friends! I’m always open to talk if you have any questions about school, life, etc, so don’t hesitate to reach out :)

Karen chou

Letter from your secretary Hey Key Club! It’s your secretary Karen here, and I hope you all have been hanging in there during shelter-in-place. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we haven’t had much of an opportunity to get to know each other this term, so here’s what I’ve been up to. I’m going to be a junior this upcoming year, and have found a lot of new hobbies during quarantine. I’ve been doing a ton of cooking/baking, started running, and have been looking into ways to modify some old clothes. Happy social distancing and don’t forget to wear a mask!

9

Amber Chu

Letter from your Treasurer Hey blue devils! My name's Amber and I'll be serving you as treasurer for this term. I am an incoming junior who really needs to find a stable hobby but I enjoy skiing, hanging out with my friends, and watching anime. The latter being what I've mostly been doing in quarantine, along with reading. One fun fact about me is I like tomatoes but hate ketchup!

10

Sarah Min

Letter from your Historian Hey everyone! My name is Sarah, and I’m the historian of key club! I’m entering this year as a sophomore and hope to get to know you all a bit better next term <3. During the quarantine I’ve honestly learned more than I would have in school I spent the break binge watching friends, practicing my splits, baking, and mindlessly scrolling through TikTok. You can contact me at min6589@mydusd.org or 9257899312 if you just want to talk!

Victoria De Jesus

Letter from your Project chair Hey Guys! It’s your Project Chair! My name is Victoria De Jesus and I am an incoming Junior. My favorite hobbies are singing and drawing. Fun facts about me are that I have two first names (Victoria Abigail), my favorite color is green, and I’m a Gemini. A few activities I’ve been doing during quarantine is baking, having movie-nights, finishing my driver’s ed, and studying for the SATs. Lastly, I know many of you might have been going through a lot during this time with everything that’s going on, especially since a huge chunk of last year was taken away. However, it’s amazing to see that many of you are still trying to contribute to the community by using your free time to your advantage and doing many safe/secure volunteer opportunities in order to spread even just a little positivity. There may be many hurdles but stay strong Key Clubbers!

Articles and Visuals Richard Chung-Thank you card making:

The thank you card making was a success! I was able to make a couple of cards for my advisor and teacher and I think they turned out really nice! The cards did take a while to make but they looked great in the end. The zoom call was a little awkward because everyone was focusing on their cards but everyone looked nice too! I really enjoyed going and I would definitely

Sarah Min- OTC

The Officer Training Conference, I attended the Intro & Member education session and the Editors session. I learned about the basics of Key Club as well as my responsibilities in the club. I appreciate how organized the event was, given the different times and circumstances. I also learned how to prepare for my role and was given ideas for it. As a historian, however, I would have liked there to be a separate session for my role. Since the presentation was for editors, I was confused as to what my responsibilities were. Overall, I believe the OTC was a

greatly planned and executed event.

Mikayla Chen- DCM:

The Dare (the) Devils June DCM was just as I expected, really fun! It was joint with D26N so we had a lot of attendance. People would donate a certain amount (which went to ACLU Foundation) and that would translate into dares for both DLTs. I was given 2 dares and not going to lie, I wasn't expecting it but nonetheless I fulfilled them. It was really funny to watch everyone else do their dares. Overall,

this DCM was extremely enjoyable, and we helped a good cause!

Sarah Min- Cranes 4 Cancer: In this event, members could choose between making digital cranes or illustrating helpful cards for children in the hospital. Personally, I chose the cranes option. Making Cranes for Cancer was simple and straightforward. The website was well-designed with a cute folding animation. Members could customize

each crane and write a personal message to its receiver. The only thing that could be improved was the interaction and communication between members.
