CARL J. McEWEN HISTORIC VILLAGE

The Carl J. McEwen Historic Village is a true destination for history enthusiasts. Visitors come to the historic village to see and experience what life was like more than 100 years ago in Mint Hill. Historical exhibits include artifacts from the town’s past. Walk through this turn-of-the-century village of restored buildings such as a country doctor’s office, country store, one room schoolhouse, gold assay office, blacksmith shop, woodwright shop, and various other buildings. Return for events held throughout the year such as Mint Hill Farmers Market, Christmas Gift Shop and Christmas Tea. The Barn is a historic event venue available to rent.

Mint Hill Farmers Market

Every Saturday morning from May through September, farm-fresh produce takes center stage at the Carl J. McEwen Historic Village. Vendors with everything from peaches and strawberries to corn, lettuce and tomatoes set up shop and exhibit their wares to the public. Visitors can also find locally baked goods and fresh flowers as well as arts and craft items. Live musicians and activities for the kids give the weekly event a festival-like atmosphere.

Nc Korean War Memorial

This memorial honors North Carolinians who fought, and are still serving, to keep South Korea free from tyranny. This is the only memorial in the state that ensures that the soldiers sacrifices will always be remembered. This memorial is located at the Mint Hill Veterans Memorial Park which is at the intersection of NC Hwy. 218 and I-485 (Exit 44).

Mint Hill Arts

Mint Hill Arts is an information and support network for local artists of all mediums and a source of educational and cultural enrichment to the public. Tina Ross Afternoon In The Park

This annual event is a tribute to the late Commissioner Tina Ross in honor of her love for the arts and the Town of Mint Hill. Local artists of all kinds - potters, painters, sculptors, musicians and more showcase their work and give community members the chance to meet artists and purchase their work. Family Fun Nights

Held the third Saturday in May, July and September, Mint Hill Events, Inc. hosts a series of Family Fun Nights which include a concert series at Mint Hill Veterans Memorial Park. The event is family friendly and brings the community together for a night of wholesome fun. In addition to the concert, the event includes inflatables for kids, food trucks and family games. These events are free and open to the public.

Mint Hill Madness

As one of the Town’s most defining events, it’s no surprise that this annual weekend festival attracts thousands of people. This festival celebrates the founding of Mint Hill. Mint Hill Madness has something for everyone in the family: a parade, tantalizing tastes from a variety of food vendors, great music ranging from country to rock, carnival rides, games, and spectacular fireworks. Scarecrow Decorating Contest

Be creative! Use your imagination! This community celebration is open to schools, businesses, youth organizations, church groups and individuals to create the best scarecrow. Scarecrows are on display during the month of October and members of the community are able to vote on their favorites. There is a $10 entry fee. National Night Out

Meet the men and women who keep Mint Hill safe during this community police awareness-raising event held the first Tuesday of August. There is food, fun, and games for all ages along with helpful information to help prevent you from becoming a victim of crime. This event is free and open to all residents of Mint Hill. Golf Classic

This annual golf tournament is a way for members of the community to promote their businesses and get to know other locals in a relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy a funfilled day of golfing, delicious food as well as prizes and raffles. The proceeds for this event go to benefit Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce’s programs and community events like the Chamber’s College Scholarship program.

JINGLE ALL THE WAY 5K WALK/RUN

The event raises money to support the Mint Hill Police Department’s Volunteers in Police Service and the Police Explorers Post 545. These programs continue to play a vital role in helping the community and residents impacted by the Mint Hill Police Department.

CHRISTMAS PARADE & TREE LIGHTING

Kick off the holiday season by watching the parade travel from Bain School and makes its way through town on Matthews Mint Hill Road until it ends at the Mint Hill Library. Spectators will see dancing, cheerleaders, marching bands, and traditional favorites like floats, tractors, cars, public safety vehicles and more!
