DIVISION 9 SERVICE SPOTLIGHTS (continue) DIVISION 9 KEY CLUBS  EDWARD R. MURROW H.S. KEY CLUB In our school, a club usually holds a bake sale to raise money. This year, our Key Club decided to do something different, even risqué. When the elected executives went to the Key Club convention this April, we became immersed in a conversation with a Key Club President and she was the one that gave us this idea of PIE-A-TEACHER. The premise of this event made it difficult to happen, but it did. Everyone in the club wanted to see this vision come to life and it surely did. On the day of, none of us could contain our excitement. During my math class, the laughter and fun coming from our PIE-A-TEACHER booth, made everyone in my class want to jump out of their seats. Even my teacher couldn’t resist but peek out the window to see what the commotion was about. This event was more important than just raising money for our Key Club fund. It gave everyone a better atmosphere in the school. It felt like, for the first time, that teachers were not the enemy and that the students still retained their natural rights. It felt like we could appeal to the authority. Not to mention, we think the teacher who got pied in the face felt young again. Submitted by: Club Bulletin Editor Anna Fong

 ABRAHAM LINCOLN H.S. KEY CLUB Our school's Key Club has associations with SPARC which is another community service organization. With SPARC and our Key Clubbers we do a lot of events throughout the year and this event at Holy Cross High School was one of these events. When we got the high School we were greeted by other kids from other school afflicted with SPARC and also two identical twin World War 2 Veterans. We got a chance to hear the story of these patriots to our country and how important our generation is to bring on the tradition of storytelling. Service doesn’t always have to be physical work and doing this project was a great example.
