Get the Physical Therapy You Need With REBUILD REBUILD is a program available exclusively from Diplomat Specialty Infusion Group. The mission of the REBUILD program is to partner with people with hemophilia and their physical therapists to provide the education, support, and collaborative connection that facilitate successful therapy results. This clinical support program is open to anyone in the bleeding disorders community who qualifies, regardless of where they receive their factor medications.

PROGRAM QUALIFICATIONS If you have a bleeding disorder and are experiencing difficulty with physical function due to a muscle or joint bleeding complication, physical therapy and REBUILD might be right for you. Muscle and joint bleeding are the most common types of bleeding episodes. They can interfere with your participation in everyday tasks at home, work, or school and make it difficult to participate in sports or exercise. It’s important to get the proper treatment for these problems before they grow into bigger problems. HOW REBUILD WORKS The program is run by a physical therapist who has specialized in hemophilia for more than 20 years. She can connect you with a physical therapist in your area if you don’t already have one. The local physical therapist will be able to work with the REBUILD physical therapist to learn more about hemophilia and its impact on muscles and joints. This connection and collaboration will help support your local physical therapist with resources and education as you attend your therapy sessions. Your responsibilities are simple: 1) complete the REBUILD enrollment process, 2) choose a physical therapy clinic from a list of covered options, and 3) attend your sessions. Our REBUILD staff will then work with your local physical therapist, as needed, as long as you are attending physical therapy sessions.

WHAT THE NATIONAL HEMOPHILIA FOUNDATION (NHF) SAY ABOUT PHYSICAL THERAPISTS The NHF describes physical therapists (PTs) as “…an integral part of the hemophilia team. They are trained in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal issues using a wide variety of modalities. Not only are PTs helpful in the management of patients with target joints or those with hemophilia arthropathy, they are also instrumental in the prevention of new target joints in persons with hemophilia by working closely with the patient and their family.”
