Incredible India is the name given to the cultural history, the physical status and the loving populace of

the country which woven together creates an unbelievable warmth and attraction for the nation. Rajasthan and Kerala the two places were tourism is at maximum vogue are the two contrasting faces of the same coin. Kerala: ‘God’s Own Country’, Kerala is huddled between Bay of Bengal and Western Ghats. Owing to its geographical position Kerala is blessed with a pleasant and cool climate throughout its expanse. Since this state receives very high amount of rainfall it is obvious that Kerala is a proud owner of lush greenery. It is drained by 44 rivers which facilitate cultivation and production of tones of agricultural products. It has a long uninterrupted shoreline and beautiful blue ocean thrown in relief by the sparkling white sand. The Cherai beach and Alappuzha beach are frequently visited. Kerala is a watery state being home to numerous rivers and their tributaries. Thus, the Backwaters of Kerala is its cynosure attraction. The Backwaters are washed by 38 rivers and 5 lakes both natural and man-made. The Backwaters are fringed by tall waving coconut trees and covers almost half the state.

Rajasthan: The land of kings, as it is commonly known is flanked by Pakistan on one side and the Indian mainland on the other. The land of desert has a sandy feature to talk about. Today it is supported by the water supply of Indira Gandhi Canal, but there was a time when Rajasthan was an arid region, too much for normal lifestyle to be continued. Rivers like Luni and Gomati flow through the largest state in the country. The Aravallis are a range of hills the story of which goes way back to the mythology of India. Rajasthan, as history states is the land of clans of kings who apparently rose from the fire of a yajna and then spread their wings. The imposing palaces and forts of Rajasthan bring to our mind the regality of the kings who once ruled the area with aplomb and grandioseness. The pink city of Jaipur, the golden city of Jaisalmer is all reminders of the royal past of the western state of Rajasthan. Hawa Mahal and City Palace Jaipur; Jaisalmer Fort and Mehrangarh Fort are some of the

of

well known monuments that Rajasthan can boast of. With extremes of temperature in summer and winter the people have a unique way of guarding themselves from the rude sun. They wear cotton clothes which cover their bodies entirely and women adorn their arms with heavy bangles to protect from the sun. In spite of the arduous journey that the people encounter everyday of their lives they welcome the world with hands spread out and a smile on their faces. These two states are amongst the most frequented tourist places in India which apart from giving a pleasant experience to the visitors also generates employment and therefore revenue for the country. Any where an Indian goes he or she always brings up the context of these two states which take you the closest to mother earth.
