2010-11 DePaul Basketball
ALL-AMERICANS DePaul has produced 19 players that have earned first, second or third team All-American honors on 80 ocassions throughout its storied history. George Mikan, Mark Aguirre and Terry Cummings each earned consensus first team All-American honors. Mikan earned the recognition for the 1943-44, 1944-45 and 1945-46 seasons while Aguirre was a two-time consensus All-American in 197980 and 1980-81. Cummings followed Aguirre with first team consensus All-American honors in 1981-82. In addition to Mikan receiving first team consensus honors for the 1943-44 season, Dick Triptow was a consensus second team All-American. DePaul’s most recent first, second or third team All-American is Rod Strickland. Strickland was named a first team All-American by The Sporting News and a third team member by UPI following the 1987-88 season. In addition to the 19 first, second or third team honorees, nine others picked up honorable mention recognition for All-American teams. David Booth (199091), Emmette Bryant (1963-64), Tyrone Corbin (1983-84, 1984-85), Tom Kleinschmidt (1994-95), Jim Lamkin (195455), Kenny Patterson (1984-85), Quentin Richardson (1998-99, 1999-00), Bill Robinzine (1974-75) and Curtis Watkins (1978-79).
