Readers choose the best in South Delta for 2019
Welcome to the 22nd annual Readers’ Choice Awards special section. This feature honours the businesses and individuals chosen by our readers as their favourites in a variety of categories. Ballots were included in print editions in April and May as well as on the Optimist website, giving readers ample opportunity to let us know which shops and services should be the recipients of a Readers’ Choice Award for 2019. After all the ballots were counted, the winners were presented with their awards at a reception the Optimist hosted earlier this month at the Beach Grove Golf Club. Recipients mingled with their fellow winners during a reception before a formal awards presentation. Most of the awards were for all of South Delta, although a few were specific for Ladner and Tsawwassen. This year’s ballot also asked readers to tell us
about the best experience they’ve had with a South Delta business. We received hundreds of responses, many of which we’ve included in this section. We thank all of the read-
ers who took time to tell us who their favourites are and why. We also congratulate the winners who are the backbone of a strong business community in South Delta.

Ricky’s All Day Grill is the best for breakfast according to our readers and they received their certificate from Ruth.
Ashley and Hailea from Stir Coffee House were two time winners, Best Coffee Shop in Ladner and Best Meeting Place in South Delta.
The team from Deltassist were chosen by our readers as this year’s best non-profit organization and they had a good contingent on hand to enjoy the festivities.
