Meaning Conveyed This type of shot allows her emotions and her face to be shown clearly to the audience. The bruises and scares on her face are seen. This could be done so that the audience can sympathise with the character. The film starts off with this seen so that the audience’s attention can be captured instantly, as they wonder what has happened to her. The zoom draws the audience into the scene. It also disables the static element of the scene, it introduces the fact that she is in a moving car and also shows gradual appearance and clearance of her features and expressions. The scene ends with a jump-cutting into a black screen. This adds a sense of enigma, not knowing the truth and adds thrill which sets the scene for the rest of the film.
