Donald Smith’s 52 points against Loyola-Chicago in 1973 is a UD record. Many still consider it one of the greatest collegiate performances in the history of Chicago Stadium.

Not only was Don Meineke the first Flyer to score 1,000 points, he was the first Flyer drafted in the NBA and the NBA’s first-ever Rookie of the Year. UD’s all-time winningest coach, Don Donoher led the Flyers to 437 wins between 1964 and 1989. He took UD to eight NCAA Tournaments, including three Sweet 16’s and one Final Four. His 1968 squad won the NIT Championship.

Mike Sylvester won a gold medal while playing with Italy in the 1980 Olympics in Moscow.

A towering 7-footer, Hank Finkel averaged 23.7 points during his three-year career and led UD to the NCAA Sweet 16 in 1965 and 1966.

Don May made 13-straight field goals in UD’s 1967 NCAA Semifinal win over North Carolina. His 1,980 points is second all-time at UD.

Negele Knight set marks for assists in a career, season and game during his magical senior season.

UD’s 1968 NIT Championship team won 14-straight games to end the season. The Flyers’ beat West Virginia, Fordham, Notre Dame and Kansas to win the title.
