Community Education Classes Handgun Safety

This course will cover the basic fundamentals of safety, and the cardinal rules regarding the responsible operation of a handgun. After completion of the course, you will receive a certificate to take to the Sheriff ’s office to apply for a concealed weapons certificate. Do not bring any firearms to class. Those wishing to sit in with a spouse in this class will be charged a $25 administrative fee. Only individual participants paying full tuition will receive a certificate of completion to obtain a concealed weapons permit. Introduction to Word and Excel

Do you have questions about how to use Microsoft Windows, plus Word and Excel? This class is for you. Students will learn the basics of Word and Excel in a casual, welcoming setting. The class will also cover such basic computer instruction as how to search the Internet, how to upload and download files, how to organize your computer, and how to run system tests to keep your computer in good running order.

Non-Profit Organizations

This class is geared to board members and officers of small non-profit organizations. The class will discuss how such organizations should be managed, and will cover compliance with IRS and Oregon rules concerning non-profits. Find out what is meant by “501(c)(3),” and learn more about the record-keeping that is required for non-profit groups. There’s no better place to shoot photographs than the Oregon Coast, and there’s no better time to brush up on your photography skills than the spring! Students in this class will learn how to select and set different camera settings and compositional guidelines, as well as how to use light and exposure to create pleasing and interesting images.
