Greetings from our Board of Directors and our Executive Leadership Team! What a joy it is to present to you our 2021-22 Academic Report Card! As you might expect, we offer a rigorous and Christ centered education to all our students, and we are thrilled to highlight our numerous successes from last year in this document.
I also want to thank and congratulate our teachers and classroom aides for their diligent work in providing a well-rounded education to all our students. On both our Rose and Immanuel Baptist Church Campuses, our educators are seasoned professionals who are undoubted curriculum and pedagogy experts

Teachers use the MAP assessment to set goals with students, discuss relative areas of growth and strength, and plan lessons to meet the individual needs of our students. Individual opportunities to support students can include intervention support in the areas of reading or math, as well as enrichment opportunities for students who are scoring at or above the 80th percentile. We are proud of the high level of achievement of so many of our Elementary students and continue to target how we can help each student grow academically. MAP is one of the many tools we utilize as we seek to equip and nurture students to fulfill God's calling on their lives through Christ centered education.

LCA elementary students participated in the Governor's Cup Competition on February 8 & 12 at the Rose Campus. LCA was the 1st Place District Champs!
"For 2021 22, LCA administered the of Progress (MAP) for grades K 8. These assessments provided essential information about our students' learning and growth trajectory. Students take the assessment three different times through the year (fall, winter, and spring). MAP testing is not timed, and questions are adjusted to challenge students at each of their individual learning levels. MAP uses data from more than 10.2 million students, which allows us to compare our student to national norms.

The LCA Middle School Academic Team competed in the District Governor's Cup held at Jessie M. Clark Middle School. The team finished as Runners Up in Quick Recall. As students transition to high school, their academic programs and paths may vary considerably. Students have the ability to select different electives as well as courses at different levels of challenge (regular, college prep, Honors, or Advanced Placement.) Academic achievement at the high school is evaluated by means of various nationally standardized tests. This includes the American College Test (ACT) and the Advanced Placement (AP) exam.
The ACT measures students’ skills in English, reading, mathematics, and science reasoning. Students are scored on each subtest; scores range from one (1) to thirty six (36.) An average is then taken to arrive at a composite score. Although sophomores can take the ACT, it is typically taken by juniors and seniors Our students continue to perform above both state and national averages
LCA currently offers 18 AP courses At the conclusion of each school year, students have the opportunity to sit for AP exams Scored on a scale of 1 to 5, students who achieve a qualifying score (3 or higher) are eligible for college credit or advanced placement at more than 90% of American colleges and universities.

The LCA High School Academic Team competed in District Governor's Cup at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School on January 22, 2022. They placed 2nd in Quick Recall and advanced to regionals at Scott County in February. Individual assessment winners included:

For three weeks every summer, Kentucky’s most talented and creative high school students are invited to grow and learn together at the Governor’s School for the Arts’ college summer residence program Rising juniors and seniors in high school are offered in depth instruction in one of nine artistic disciplines: architecture + design, creative writing, dance, drama, film + photography, instrumental music, musical theatre, visual art, and vocal music.

Tia Alchureiqi and Milo Golding from the Class of 2022 were named among the 150 winners of the 2022 Coca Cola Scholars Program. Each received a $20,000 college scholarship and joined a family of 6,600+ alumni who are leading positive change around the world.

At the start of the 2021 2022 school year, Milo Golding '22 was named the National Doodle for Google Winner. Milo was featured on NBC's "The Today Show" and honored by Governor Andy Beshear and Mayor Linda Gorton in a special ceremony held at Lexington's City Hall. Milo's artwork appeared on google.com on Tuesday, June 15, 2021. In addition to the special recognition for his entry, Milo received a $30,000 college scholarship!
LCA consistently sends students to both the Kentucky Governor's Scholars Program and Governor's School for the Arts. We are proud of Sam, Julianne, Reagan and Natalie for dedicating part of their summer vacation to these programs.

Kentucky Governor's Scholars Program
The Governor’s Scholars Program is a summer residential program for outstanding high school students in Kentucky who are rising seniors. The Program originated in 1983 as a result of Kentucky leaders’ concern that the state’s “best and brightest” were leaving the Commonwealth to pursue educational and career opportunities elsewhere without fully understanding the potential of their talents at home The Program’s mission is to enhance Kentucky’s next generation of civic and economic leaders

Less than 1% of 68,000+ applicants were chosen to receive this extremely competitive award. Recipients, in addition to displaying strong leadership, academics, and service, represent change agents who positively affect others in their communities
“LCA has a long and storied tradition of offering an academic curriculum that is wide ranging, challenging, and at the end of the students’ journey with us, incredibly rewarding Our school thoughtfully considers the wants and needs of its families and prepares students at an unparalleled level for achievement on standardized testing such as ACT, PSAT, SAT, as well as taking AP and college based dual credit courses LCA students regularly score at or near the top of all Kentucky pupils, those in both private and public academic settings, taking these exams and courses.
The class of 2022 graduated 104 students In LCA’s 33-year history, 2,428 students have graduated from the school. The members of the Class of 2022 were accepted in 72 different colleges and universities. 31% of the class will be attending college outside of Kentucky. 95% will be attending a college or university and an additional 2% will be attending a trade school. 100 of the students received 180 academic merit scholarship offers totaling $3,454,970.

CURRICULUM
Lexington Christian Academy is accredited through Cognia and as of January, 2021 we are also accredited through ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International). Accreditation with ACSI engages our school in a vigorous process of organizational appraisal and improvement that engages the every school constituent. ACSI is a highly regarded Christian program that holds partnerships with all U.S. regional accreditation agencies and offers joint accreditation with Cognia. Every step of the accreditation process is designed to be useful for driving improvement in our school so that we can truly flourish
Each curriculum review allows LCA teachers and administrators to assess current content, academic standards, and resources and then identify how we can strengthen the program(s) under review Students, parents, and teachers can expect:

It provides an overview of each content area and highlights each specific course description. It also demonstrates the sequence of courses and the academic progression that is instrumental in student success.
We have a 5 year rotation cycle for each area of academic concentration. This year, we review Mathematics for implementation in the 2024 2025 school year. Through the process of the curriculum review, LCA strives to provide an academic program that supports the vision of preparing all students to be successful, continuous learners who view all content through the truth of scripture.
