Aug.​ ​31:​​ ​New​ ​Student Orientation​ ​ ​WNHS,​ ​Yearbook,​ ​and

Newspaper​ ​staffs​ ​welcome​ ​the​ ​class​ ​of​ ​2021.

Oct.​ ​11:​ ​CCR​ ​Day​ ​College​ ​and​ ​Career

Readiness​ ​Day​ ​allotted​ ​time​ ​for​ ​9th​ ​graders​ ​to learn​ ​about​ ​academies​ ​and​ ​the​ ​capstone process​ ​.​ ​Seniors​ ​visited​ ​career​ ​sessions,​ ​like Ms.​ ​Merriweather’s​​ ​study​ ​abroad​ ​class.

Sept.​ ​25/26:​ ​ ​Academy​ ​Kickoff

Students​ ​met​ ​academy​ ​teachers,​ ​learned about​ ​electives,​ ​obtained​ ​information​ ​about capstone​ ​projects​ ​and​ ​enjoyed​ ​light​ ​snacks and​ ​refreshments.

The​ ​HAM​ ​Committee​ ​currently​ ​has​ ​ten academic​ ​advisors​​ ​supporting​ ​students​ ​in danger​ ​of​ ​academic​ ​ineligibility.​ ​ ​Three members​ ​also​ ​serve​ ​as​ ​Capstone​ ​mentors​.

Ms.​ ​Reff-Presco​ ​led​​ ​Ceramics​ ​Workshop​ ​& Ms.​ ​Priest​​ ​works​ ​with​ ​Ilan​ ​Brick​​ ​on​ ​a Forensics​ ​presentation.

Oct​ ​27:​​ ​ ​Journalism​ ​Trip

Six​ ​students​ ​travelled​ ​to​ ​the​ ​University​ ​of​ ​MD to​ ​attend​ ​attend​ ​seminars​ ​ ​related​ ​to​ ​design, photography,​ ​and​ ​ ​broadcast​ ​journalism.

HAM​ ​Academy​ ​offered​ ​six​ ​break-out​ ​sessions for​ ​rising​ ​9th​ ​graders​ ​to​ ​experience​ ​NHS. Thanks​ ​to​ ​all​ ​Facilitators!

Ms.​ ​Scott​​ ​led​ ​a​ ​WNHS​ ​Tour​ ​&​ ​Ms.​ ​O’brien​​ ​led a​ ​Galaxy​ ​Painting​ ​session.

Under​ ​the​ ​direction​ ​of​ ​Mr.​ ​Warrington​,​ ​NHS students​ ​and​ ​teachers​ ​hosted​ ​nine​ ​French students.​ ​ ​Two​ ​NHS​ ​students,​ ​Nia​ ​Peters​​ ​and Ashley​ ​Stockard​,​ ​will​ ​go​ ​to​ ​France​ ​in​ ​2018.

Students​ ​like​ ​Zachary​ ​Larew​​ ​led​ ​a​ ​Digital Photo​ ​Session​ ​&​ ​Mr.​ ​Donald​​ ​led​ ​a​ ​Mindfulness session.
