Dallas World Aquarium
Amon Carter Museum of American Art
This colorful aquarium near the historic West End District is home to an array of vibrant marine life. A unique display of flora and fauna from five continents, 14 countries, three oceans and numerous seas and rivers offers a glimpse at some of nature’s most beautiful creatures. It aids conservation and education by housing many animals that are threatened or endangered as part of a cooperative breeding program with other zoos around the world.
The Amon Carter Museum of American Art houses a preeminent collection of American art including painting, photographs, sculpture, and works on paper by artists such as Frederic Church, Stuart Davis, Georgia O’Keeffe, and nearly 400 works by American West artists Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell. The paintings collection spans early 19th-century expeditionary art to mid-20th-century Modernism and the museum is one of the nation’s major repositories of American photography from the 19th century to the present. Admission is free.

Dallas Zoo The wild is calling at the Dallas Zoo, where over 2,000 animals are waiting to be discovered. Kimbell Art Museum This is one of the finest museums in the country, located in the Fort Worth Cultural District. Its collection includes masterpieces by artists including Fra Angelico, Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Poussin, Monet, Picasso and Matisse; important collections of Egyptian and antiquities; and Asian, Mesoamerican and African art.
