Community Advocate and Speaker Since graduating, I am proud to talk up “The Beach” whenever I can. I love to wear my CSULB “hoodie.” Recently, I have gone back to one of my former professor's classes to speak with her students. This was one of my favorite classes, and it has been an honor to return to it. Finally, in my job as a high school counselor, I promote CSULB to my students. I encouraged one of my graduating seniors from last year to join the Learning Alliance at CSULB, and so far, he seems to like it. I can't wait to see more of my students attending CSULB in the future.

Alumni Association Member Since graduating from CSULB in 1991, I have mostly lived away from Long Beach, including now, as I live in New York. However, I sport the Long Beach State name and logo whenever I can on my sweatshirts, T-shirts and beanies! All my family still live in Long Beach, and one of my favorite things to do when I come home to visit is go to the bookstore to purchase a new piece of Beach wear! Go Beach!

I worked for the Long Beach Unified School District for 37 years. My husband and I are both graduates of CSULB. We have stayed connected over the years by sending our children to the music conservatory and contributing to the CSULB Foundation. Kaleidoscope has always been a favorite of ours, also. Sometimes, it's just nice walking the track and enjoying the flora and fauna. It's a beautiful campus.

Although I am stationed overseas in the Pacific, where I serve as a teacher with the Department of Defense Education Activity (DODEA), I always promote CSULB to my students. Our DODEA school community serves all military families stationed overseas in the Pacific, Asia and Europe. Many of our kids have been overseas for some time and have no access to visiting universities on the U.S. mainland. So I enjoy sharing my CSULB experience with my students. Every year, we provide a college fair on campus. In order to prepare for the event, CSULB has been able to provide materials for applying to CSU Long Beach. In addition, I am always promoting Long Beach State’s International Program (IP) Study Abroad. As a former study abroad participant, I have had lifelong experiences and friendships from studying and living abroad through IP CSULB. Go Beach!

Taylor Dudley ’05, B.A., Political Science Mission Viejo, Calif. Volunteer, Donor, Event Attendee, Alumni Association Member and Greek Life As a college student, my connection and love for the university stemmed from my membership in Delta Delta Delta (Tri Delta). Through Tri Delta, I made numerous professional contacts and meaningful friendships, and I enjoyed opportunities for personal growth, leadership and philanthropic giving. Today, as an alumna, my connection to the university remains through Tri Delta. Since graduation, I have represented CSULB as a consultant for Tri Delta and facilitated conventions and leadership seminars for collegians and adult volunteers throughout North America. No matter where I go, I'm always proud to tell people I'm a Tri Delta from CSULB.

Tim Schugt ’93, M.A., Elementary Education Long Beach, Calif. School Community Liaison For the last several years, I have maintained my Beach connection through my employer. I work with the university to place student teachers, work study, and serve students. It's always nice to have that CSULB connection.
