“AWAKENING THE GARDEN IN SPRING”

FLEA MARKET

The Troy Public Library is pleased to announce “Awakening the Garden In Spring,” with Pam Taft, Master Gardener for Cornell Cooperative Extension on Thursday, May 2nd, at 6:30 p.m. Master Gardener Pam Taft will provide and review a check-list of tasks to ready gardens and lawns for a successful growing season. Tips on evaluating soil, choosing appropriate flowers and veggies, pruning and fertilizing are among the topics covered. The program is free and open to the public, but please call the library at 274-7071 to register, or register online at www.thetroylibrary.org. The library is located at 100 2nd Street, Troy, NY.

A Flea Market will be held on Saturday, May 4th, from 8AM to 4PM at Powers Park, 3rd Ave. & 111th Street in North Troy. The Flea Market is to benefit Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Ministries, Local and Regional Hunger Programs. Vendors are wanted: $15 a space and $20 with a car. MOVING UP OR SCALING DOWN???

Help us with our Spring Cleaning by coming to our book sale on Saturday, April 27th, from 10:30 to 2:00. We have new book bags available as well as many books for adults and children. Come search out music and movie bargains. The library is located at 4118 State Highway 2, Troy, NY 12180 We would also love to have you join us on May 4th at 10:00 for our Library Friends meeting planning for our upcoming Garden Day at the library. Garden Day will take place on June 8th from 9:00 to 1:00. We are looking for donations of empty pots to be dropped off behind the library to be available for local gardeners who are dividing up perennials and grasses in their gardens to donate to the sale. As always, plant donations for the Garden Day Sale may be dropped off at the library June 6th, 7th or 8th.
