Black History Month Celebration: “I Have a Dream” Thursday, January 16th at 12:30 p.m. College Activity Hour Student Community Center – Auditorium Experience a moment in history as nationally acclaimed actor and MLK scholar Jim Lucas gives a dramatic reenactment of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s famous speech. Lucas’s performance is a unique opportunity to relive historic moments in the civil rights movement as he recreates Dr. King’s speeches. He gives us the historical background of the times and the words that changed a generation in a program that has been called “remarkable”, “awe inspiring”, “uncanny”, and “soulful”. As Bobby celebrates his 35th birthday he contemplates why he is unable to commit to a relationship let alone marriage. His friends, five married couples and three girlfriends help him sort out his feelings through comedic vignettes, song and dance. Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. Original production was nominated for a historic 17 Tony Awards!
