Welcome from the President In 1968, County College of Morris opened its doors to local residents and encouraged them to build a brighter future for themselves and for our community at large. Tonight marks the beginning of a year-long celebration to commemorate our 50th anniversary. Through the extraordinary efforts of thousands of individuals across Morris County, the vision of Presidents Sherman H. Masten and Edward J. Yaw, dedicated Trustees, scores of talented faculty and staff, and the hard work of our students, CCM has produced 50,000 alumni. We’ve been named one of the best colleges in the state, are ranked #1 in New Jersey for alumni salaries, have a near half billion dollar economic impact on the county, are the only county college in New Jersey to hold the coveted distinction as a Department of Homeland Security and National Security Agency Center for Educational Excellence in Cyber Security, have realized among the highest scores in the state and nation on health care licensure exams, and continue to excel in humanities, mathematics, social and natural sciences. As part of our core mission and commitment to outstanding quality in academics, CCM holds more than 100 transfer agreements with universities throughout the state and we are proud of our many business and community partnerships. As we reach for the future, students can expect to see a college that is a national model of quality and innovation, and businesses can expect even closer partnerships. We are eager to break ground on our newest endeavors, a forthcoming 30,000 sq. ft. engineering and manufacturing building and a virtual hospital to produce the best engineers, manufacturers, and health care professionals in Morris County. For 50 years, CCM has changed lives and strengthened Morris County through its world class educational programs. Our alumni represent the best in class in virtually all career fields. We are proud of our work and firmly believe that our success could not have occurred without our dedicated community members and industry partners. With that in mind, I am both appreciative and inspired by your support. Truly, you make a difference. Tonight marks not only the opening of our 50th anniversary celebration but also the beginning of the public phase of our capital campaign. To date, we have raised $1.8 million toward our initial goal of $2.1 million. These funds are more than generous gifts. They are life-changing opportunities for hundreds of students while also nurturing the exceptional quality of life we enjoy in Morris County. As your county college, we strive for innovation, excellence, and impact. With an emerging engineering and manufacturing building, plans for an expansive healthcare simulation center, hopes for an expanded culinary arts facility and increased scholarships for students who need your support, I invite you to be a part of our future. Thank you for being here this evening and for all you’ve done to support the last 50 years. Together, we can accomplish anything!
