Ida Evangeline ‘Vange’ Renshaw November 27, 1921 - September 5, 2013

Ida Evangeline “Vange” Renshaw was born Nov. 27, 1921 to Oscar David and Ida Marie (Palmquist) Anderson on a farm one

mile north of Unityville, South Dakota. She passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013 in Sioux Falls, SD. She attended Sun

Prairie No. 6 grade school in McCook County, graduated from Salem High School, and South Dakota State University in Brookings. Vange was active in speech, oratory and drama and was both business manager and editor of the Collegian. She and Robert C. “Bob” Renshaw married in June 1946. She taught English, Literature, and Journalism at Brookings High School. In 1948 they purchased a weekly newspaper, The Elkton Record, which they edited and published for nine years. They moved to Sioux Falls in 1958. In addition to raising three children, Vange was a

Volunteers Needed Are you a people person? Want to give unto others and assist those experiencing a challenging time? Copper Communities Hospice is looking for volunteers that are interested in visiting with patients. Volunteers attend an 8-hour training session, must be able to pass a background check, have a driver’s license, current auto insurance and their own reliable transportation. TB skin test is required (we will provide). Volunteers devote a minimum of 2 hours a week. Ida Evangeline ‘Vange’ Renshaw AL; sister-in-law, Laurice (Ernie) Ison, Torrance, CA; and many loving nieces, grandnieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to her husband Bob, her brother, Clarence “Kay” Anderson preceded her in death. Funeral Services are at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Oak Hills Baptist Church, 6201 South Lyncrest Avenue, Sioux Falls. Visitation will follow the funeral service, from noon to 2 p.m. at the church All are welcome to celebrate Vange’s life.
