> Throughout his career of over 20 years as an artist, saxophonist Bill Evans has explored a variety of musical styles that go beyond the limits of traditional jazz, including fusion, reggae, soul and funk. He began studding piano before clarinet and saxophone, giving classical piano concerts as young as 16. Following university, Evans joined the Miles Davis Band where he was a member for 5 years, followed by a number of major musical projects in which he led and collaborated with some of the all-time greats. He has been touring almost exclusively with his own band since 1990, with 80 concerts annually throughout the world. > Con más de 20 años de carrera como artista, el saxofonista Bill Evans ha explorado una gran variedad de estilos musicales más allá de los límites del jazz tradicional incluyendo la fusión, el reggae, soul y funk. Comenzó estudiando piano, antes del clarinete y el saxo, interpretando conciertos de piano clásico a la tierna edad de 16 años. Tras la universidad, Evans se unió a la Miles Davis Band de la que fue miembro durante 5 años y le siguieron una serie de proyectos musicales de primera fila en los que colaboró con algunos de los grandes de todos los tiempos. Ha permanecido en gira prácticamente en exclusiva con su propia banda desde 1990 con 80 conciertos anuales en todo el mundo.

> This fun musical tells the story of two young people who meet in a nightclub and end the night having sex in a vulgar toilet. When finished, they realise that something is wrong, they cannot be separated from each other, they are literally “stuck” (pegados). After a series of unsuccessful tricks to separate, they decide to go the hospital where the doctor makes them wait. Why? Because the same doctor is also the pianist in charge of the soundtrack for this outrageous situation – an eternal wait for the young couple, but wildly comical and musical for the audience.
> Back for the second consecutive season, the most anticipated theatre for the little ones: Family Theatre, that offers each month a fun function for the kids. To kick of the season we have the classic Grimm’s Brothers tale “Little Red Riding Hood” (18.11) followed by the sad, yet happy ending story, “The Ugly Duckling” (02.12). The perfect opportunity for children to relive the infamous stories they have heard hundreds of times, or to discover new stories filled with fantasy and illusion.

> The second edition of the Palma Comedy Festival has a magnificent program, bringing together some of the best comedians of the moment in Spain. The opening ceremony (22.11) is in the hands of Álex O’Dogherty (Cámara Café) with his absurd humour, followed by the intelligent and surreal Faemino & Cansado (23-24.11), up next a show by clown Pepe Viyuela (25.11) known for reincarnating Chema of the series “Aída”. The last performance of November will be Improv nights with Glosadors de Mallorca (29.11) and Impromadrid (30.11). You can expect more gut busting shows in December!
> This living legend of the British post-punk era originally from Middleton (Manchester) continues to reap the same success in current festivals as in the past, proof of this being the welcome they had at the last Primavera Sound and the resounding success of their visits to Madrid and Barcelona in 2011. From the original formation you will still find singer Mark Burgess and John Lever on drums and to complete the band a bassist and three guitarists. A collection of songs about wine, women and love, based on poems in Latin, German and French from a manuscript dated 1280 found in the Benedictine monastery of Beuren. Now all the fans of his unique style will have the opportunity to watch live as Kiko brings to light once again all of the songs we recall so dearly.
> Shrek the Musical, based on the Oscar-winning film, brings to stage the fantastic story of the funniest ogre of all time. In a kingdom far away, things are awry and about to get worse when a strange ogre sets out to rescue Princess Fiona. Add a Donkey that wont stop talking, bad Lord Farquaad, the coolest Cookie, and a dozen other characters that wouldn’t fit into a normal story and you’ve created a big mess for which we need a real hero. Fortunately we have one – Shrek! The musical combines known songs from the film with original choreography under breath taking scenery. 18 2monos is the result of the combined effort of two artists specialising in the fields of architecture and sculpture that break the stereotypes in order to offer original, personalised and high quality products. Their success is based on the concept of ‘Slow Design’, meaning, selfproduction – they themselves are responsible for every phase of the process, from design, to search for materials, to its development and distribution. This allows them to experiment, consider emotions, and enhance aspects sacrificed by the industrial production. The result is a hybrid between pieces of art, furniture and design – often from found objects and recycled materials – in which experimentation and research of the components are expressed through craftsmanship. In their job, recycling is an important concept both from an environmental and economic standpoint, besides being a creative challenge. The excitement and enthusiasm of the duo has led them to a continual state of production, in addition to organising projects for cultural diffusion such as “Factor Glocal” and creating a permanent space in their workshop to exhibit both their work and the work of other artists.

2monos es el resultado de la combinación de dos artistas especializados en los campos de la arquitectura y la escultura que rompen con los estereotipos establecidos para ofrecer productos originales, personalizados y de calidad.
