Nanuk is a 10 year old cat that was left at a shelter (Spap Mallorca) when his elderly owner fell sick and had to be hospitalu ized. Hopes were that the dv i c e a n d R e s c owner would eventually get better and come back for him, but sadly this person passed away and he was left there. He was already missing an eye, or at least you couldn’t see his eye. He had to be moved with the baby cats because adult males would bite him and he was stressing too much. Mininas saw him and we thought that he deserved a warm foster home, being used to a sofa like he had been before. He was neutered and his eye got checked, and it turned out he still had him - just not functional anymore and infected. He got surgery and has been taken care of

He’s not perfect but he IS perfect to us. He’s missing an eye, but he’s the sweetest guy on earth. He jumped on the bed the first night he got to his foster home. He loves cuddles, he’s always on his foster mom’s lap. He’s quiet and gets along perfectly with other cats, he’s very easy going and laid back. Last news are that he’s changed a lot, but in a positive way: at first, he acted the way you would expect from an old-ish cat (he didn’t move much, he slept a lot...) but it turns out that he was like that only because he was in pain and the infection was keeping him down. He’s now playful, runs around once in a while and loves chasing cords and ribbons. He has been born again, pain long forgotten. He’s got one week left of antibiotic and he’ll be ready to go!

> Trui’s monthly family shows continue during December and January. Up first, an adaptation of the classic work that touches on a current issue that is vital for children, “The Ugly Duckling” (02.12). Accompany the duckling on his journey in search of a family to love him, as he passes through countries, meets interesting characters and experiences great adventures. Up next, find out who is the fairest of them all with the classic tale of “Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs” (04.01). Two great family moments filled with song and laughter… as well as learning for the little ones.

> In celebration of his 20th anniversary as a professional musician, the legendary Kiko Veneno is going back to his roots, but this time more relaxed, as he recounts his legacy, especially his most loved and remembered record “Échate un cantecito”, which is, without a doubt, one of the major works of Spanish music with themes running through that are still relevant today such as “En un mercedes blanco”, “Echo de menos” and “Joselito”. Now all the fans of his unique style will have the opportunity to watch live as Kiko brings to light once again all of the songs we recall so dearly.

> Los espectáculos familiars de Trui de cada mes continúan en diciembre y en enero. En primer lugar, una adaptación del clásico que toca un tema siempre actual y vital para los niños: “El Patito Feo” (02.12). Previous editions have seen Giant Sand interpreting Johnny Cash´s “Live at San Quentin” and The Posies on “A Catholic Education” by Teenage Fanclub, among others. This latest performance finds Bart Davenport & Biscuit taking on “Sound Affects”, of the legendary British band, The Jam. Armed with his guitar and musical references, the Californian singer Davenport beautifully represents the vigor of old rock. At his side you have one of the most respected bands on the Spanish alternative rock circuit, Biscuit, projecting attitude and vigor with perfect melodies. > Diciembre nos trae el regreso de “We used to Party” – donde las bandas revisan grandes discos de otros artistas. > The cappella quintet was formed in 1982 by its singer and leader, Paul Carrington. They started their career in San Francisco and today are one of the cult groups of the city, with their talent recognised by famous artists and audiences around the world. Talk of da Town harmonically relates elements of gospel, doowop, swing and classical vocal groups, reaching an international stature with an international sound. > This year Trui Theatre has a very special event for families of Mallorca: A Christmas concert performed by the great Mallorcan musical artists. This most extraordinary concert will feature a unique collaboration between Tomeu Penya, rocker Jaume Anglada, multifaceted Victoria Maldi, sweet Marta Elka and the group Horris Kamoi. All accompanied by the Son Rapinya Band and La Salle Choir of 50 children with Toni Pastor on guitar. Sometimes individually, sometimes together, they will perform a repertoire of Christmas songs both original and of their own rendition.

> “There once was a girl who had a dream. She dreamed of a circus that always cheered the heart.” So begins the circus of Lara and Gabi Aragón, who, in tribute to their family, have brought back the time of clowns for children of the 21st century with the same spirit of illusion that mesmerised their parents in front of the small screen so many years ago. For two hours the audience will enjoy legendary songs such as “Susanita”, “Había una vez”, “Hola Don Pepito” and “El auto de papá”, followed by a trip to the medieval period. Gabi and Lara become the king and queen of the castle holding a party in their honour that includes acrobats, aerial dance, magic tricks, juggling, contortion, balance and much humour. > “Había una vez, una niña que tuvo un sueño. Soñó con un circo que alegraba siempre el corazón”. Así comienza el espectáculo de circo de Lara y Gabi Aragón que, en homenaje a su familia, rescatan la época de los payasos de la tele para contagiar a los niños del siglo XXI del espíritu de ilusión que atrapaba a sus padres delante de la pequeña pantalla. Durante 2 horas el público disfrutará de canciones legendarias como “Susanita”, “Había una vez”, “Hola Don Pepito” o “El auto de papá” seguido de un viaje a la época medieval. Gaby y Lara se convierten en los reyes de un castillo y se celebra una fiesta en su honor que incluye números acrobáticos, danzas aéreas, trucos de magia, malabares, contorsionismo, equilibrios y mucho humor.

> Following the success of Swedish Katrarina Mazeti’s best seller “Benny & Shrimp” comes the international critically acclaimed stage adaptation and, in its Spanish version, includes the famous actors Maribel Verdú and Antonio Molero as the only two on stage. A delightful story that tells how Laura, a young widow in town, meets Paul, a humble farmer, while they are both visiting the graves of their loved ones. Despite major differences between them, the attraction is immediate and strong, creating improbable, funny and thought provoking situations.

> The Moscow Ballet returns to Palma this holiday season with two great ballet classics. Founded in 1989 by Russian choreographer and dancer Timur Fayziev, the ballet consists of some of the most leading dancers and choreographers of Russian ballet such as Bolshoi and Stanislavsky. Swan Lake (03.01) is undoubtedly one of the most representative ballets of dance history and one of the most appreciated ballets of all time. The Nutcracker (04.01) has become a Christmas tradition throughout the world and along with Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake is one of Tchaikovsky´s most famous ballets.

> Tras el éxito del best-seller de la sueca Katarina Mazetti “El tipo de la tumba de al lado”, llega su adaptación teatral que ya ha sido aclamada por la crítica internacional y, en su adaptación española, cuenta con los renombrados actores Maribel Verdú y Antonio Molero como únicos figurantes. Una historia deliciosa que cuenta cómo Laura, una joven viuda de ciudad, conoce a Pablo, un granjero humilde, mientras ambos visitan las tumbas de sus seres queridos. Las grandes diferencias entre ellos no evitarán que entre ellos surja inmediatamente una fuerte atracción entre ellos creando situaciones inverosímiles y divertidas y otras profundas que invitan a la reflexión.

> El Ballet de Moscú regresa de nuevo al Auditorium de Palma con dos grandes propuestas del ballet clásico. Fundado en 1989 por el coreógrafo y bailarín ruso Timur Fayziev. El “Ballet de Moscú” está formado por algunos de los más destacados bailarines y coreógrafos de los ballets rusos, como el Bolshoi o el Stanislavsky. El Lago De Los Cisnes (03.01) es, sin duda alguna, uno de los ballets más representados en la historia de la danza. Es el ballet más apreciado de todos los tiempos. > The Glasgow/London hybrid, Veronica Falls, makes a stop in Mallorca in January. After a string of well received singles over the past 2 years, the indie-pop band came to prominence with the release of their self-titled debut album in 2011. Their clever twist of sound has won them a keen following. They counter their affinity for lyrics of darkness and death with sweet pop. The band consists of Roxanne Clifford and James Hoare, both on vocals and guitar, Marion Herbain on bass guitar and Patrick Doyle on drums and back vocals.

Gaston Luciano Bonanno In the privacy of his studio, in religious stillness day after day, Gastón Bonanno has created a poetry of hard shapes. His work is torn between winding curves that evoke fire and mathematically impossible angles. His sculptures, an exercise in introspection and honesty, do not offer handholding or suggest stereotypes. A self-taught, eccentric artist, Gastón uses a bezel like an instrument of beauty and calm, and elevates it with a winter of organic metals. Metals as snapshots of the world, metals that appeal to the emotions that climb over the void, in harmony with the ancient silence of the stone; with its impassive hardness, with its extinct light: “In Buenos Aires, at a very early age, I began my career working with iron. Warmed by an artistic family circle, I developed the foundations of what later would become my work – a work based on the everyday: life and my son.”

En la intimidad de su taller, en la quietud religiosa de los días repetidos, Gastón Bonanno ha construido una poética de las formas duras. Su obra se debate entre curvas que evocan el serpentear del fuego y ángulos de matemática imposible. Sus esculturas, como ejercicios de introspección y honestidad, no ofrecen asideros, no citan arquetipos. Artista autodidacta, excéntrico, Gastón emplea la herrería como instrumento embellecedor; y la serena, la sublima con su invierno de metales orgánicos. Metales como instantáneas del mundo, metales que apelan a lo emocional, que trepan sobre el vacío, que comulgan con el milenario silencio de la piedra; con su impasible dureza, con su luz apagada: “En Buenos Aires, a una edad muy temprana, comenzó mi andadura con el hierro.
