• Temple saw the construction of its only new retail center at the corner of FM 2305 and Ermine Trail. Paintbrush Plaza is a 22,000-square-foot neighborhood retail center that will be home to Benjamin Moore Paints, Valet Cleaners, and L & H Insurance Group LLC. The retail center also has additional space to lease and is well positioned to take advantage of its location in growing West Temple.
Medical The medical sector has been one of the most important contributors to Temple’s economy and future growth, and 2010 was no exception, as Scott and White launched two new commercial projects in West Temple: • The construction of the Scott & White Health Plan building was completed at 1206 West Campus Drive, just off Kegley Road and Highway 53. The three story, 80,000-square-foot Class “A” office building, completed in the fall of 2010, is part of the bioscience research campus and will house 334 employees. • Scott and White began construction on the Scott & White Westfield Clinic. This will be a 14,000-square-foot clinic located in the Westfield development on FM 2305. The clinic will feature 24 exam rooms, two treatment rooms and on-site X-ray and laboratory services. The project is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2011.
Restaurants Temple has seen the addition of many new restaurants in the past year, with more than one making major renovations to existing buildings to add to the variety of choices in the city.
