Donald James Cannon Jr, of Plainwell, MI passed away on Tuesday, Septem ber 6, 2022 at the age of 75 Donald was born on June 26, 1947, in Kalama zoo, MI, the son of Donald and Jean Cannon It’s with a heavy heart, that I have to inform you we suddenly lost the most amazing man, brother, father, grandfather, and great grandfather this world has known Don was a lifelong farmer, as well as baker, truck driver, restaurant owner, horse racer, and drag racer He was also the one true old time animal whisperer He loved to fish, spend time with his animals and family on our family farm For the ones of us that were blessed enough to have met him, we are better people now He taught us all so much about life and the old ways Like back in the day, you didn’t need a contract all you had was your handshake and your word If you couldn’t back up your word or your hand shake, you were no man at all Our father was pre ceded in death by his father Donald Cannon, his mother Jeane Dare, his brother Dale Cannon, and his niece Lanni Sauerman and Betsy Cannon He is sur vived by his brothers, James Cannon, Mark Cannon, sisters Donna Jean Tucker, Geannie, and Dawn Sauer man, his ex wife Arlene Douglass, daughters Ann Ed wards and Cheryl Hunter, son Troy Cannon, grandkids Tyler Edwards, Toby Edwards, Harley Hollon, Ciearria Hunter, Blayke Hunter, Narissa Cannon, Cole Cannon, Noah, Cameron, Carly and Alix McKay, great grand daughter Amelia Grace Hunter A memorial service will be held at a later date

On Wednesday, September 7, 2022, Donna Jean Mead (Davis) 79 of Allegan, MI went to her well deserved heavenly home Donna was a caring mother, grand mother, aunt and friend She was a person who would help whenever she could She volunteered her time at the local church with the free meal programs, at Alle gan's Hospice/Wings Home being a sitter, at local food pantries and food exchanges, and giving rides to peo ple when they had appointments or shopping needs She just had a sharing and giving heart Donna was a self proclaimed tomboy who always enjoyed being on the go! But, when she was in a mood to just sit and visit, she loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends, whether it was playing card games, having a meal or just chit chatting She loved sitting outside her home on her swing and waving at people as they drove by She even had a lady who drove by regularly, stop and give her a coffee gift card, so she could buy herself a coffee as she created smiles for those that drove past She also enjoyed church activ ities at her church, Friendship Wesleyan in Plainwell, where she attended regularly Even though she thought creating memories was important, she was never the first to stand in front of a camera Her family and friends had to get creative after awhile, just to capture a moment with her, so she didn't see the camera But, she was okay with it for the most part Donna worked for SPX in Wayland for many years until they closed, then she worked at Safari Circuits in Otsego for eight years, until her retirement in 2008 to care for her hus band Martin Mead, whom she later lost in 2009 She was also preceded in death by her boyfriend Calvin Bird, her parents Cecil John Davis and Bertha Davis Wertz (Taylor), her step dad Clifton Jack Wertz, son Ivan "Mac" Sooy, her brothers Ronald Davis and Jackie Wertz, Jr , sister Cecilia Etheredge, her aunt Dorris Tisch, nephew Cecil John Davis II and niece Rose Davis Olivarri and close friends Lynda Lange and Patty Mackey Surviving to live out her memory are her son Brian Mead (Kristy Mead), her grandchildren Tyler Mead, Tyson Mead, Max Nichols, Hunter Nichols, Dustin Sooy, Travis Sooy, Kaily Sooy, her niece Tracey Davis Newburry, great nieces Ashley Newburry and Emily Newburry, her close friends Roxy Layton, Bonnie Morse, Joyce Noble, Tammy Steinhauser and many other friends and family Family and friends are encour aged to come and gather together to remember Donna with a Celebration of Life Sunday, September 18th at 4:00pm at Friendship Wesleyan Church in Plainwell with Pastor Kevin Smith officiating A dessert bar with beverages will be provided following the service Please, in lieu of flowers, consider making a memorial donation to Wings of Hope Hospice located at 530 Linn St , Allegan, MI 49010 or Friendship Wesleyan Church, 1285 102nd Ave , Plainwell, MI 49080

George passed away Monday, September 12, 2022 at the Wings Home in Allegan He was born April 24, 1951 in Three Rivers, MI to Walter and Patricia (Nastos) Travis He at tended St Margaret Catholic School and graduated from Otsego High School in 1970 Through high school he worked at Orchard Hills Golf Course Following grad uation he began working for Consumers Energy as a draftsman From 1972 to 1976 he served his country in the U S Air Force where he was trained as a dental technician Following his service he began working as a dental technician at the Michigan State Technical In stitute where he worked until retiring He also found time to work at Aries Café in Plainwell George had a passion for the game of golf, bowling and cooking He was a sweet man who will be missed by his family and friends On March 10, 1990 he married Esther Cutler who survives Also surviving are his sons, Jeffery Travis of WA and Michael Travis of Kalamazoo; granddaugh ter, Ellianna Rose Travis; siblings, Patricia Travis and Brian Travis and by many nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Walda Jane Travis According to his wishes cremation has taken place A memorial service will be held on Oc tober 11, 2022 at 11am at St Margaret Catholic Church in Otsego
