Cavalier came to Morningside Heights after serving at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy since February 2006. In his role as director of football operation responsibilities, he helped assist in several areas within the football program, including alumni relations, equipment and team travel. During the 2005 season, Cavalier was an assistant football coach at the Merchant Marine Academy, working with the

Jansen Petagna joined the Columbia football staff in July 2012 as the team’s Director of Football Operations. A 2011 graduate of Louisiana State University, Petagna joined the Columbia staff after serving three years as an intern with the New Orleans Saints. Petagna will handle Columbia’s daily football operations, including travel, housing, team meals, training camp and practice organization. Petagna will serve as the staff’s external operations liaison and will be the staff’s contact for the National Football League. With the Saints, Petagna was a football operations intern. He updated the Saints’ free agent board, complete character and injury reports and helped transport players around the Saints’ complex.

A Dean’s List student at LSU, Petagna graduated with a bachelor’s degree of Sports Administration in Kinesiology.
