Jacob Bangston, for example, answers the phone “Sebastian Base Camp” from his off-site location near the Vista Bahn ski lift in the summer, and the enthusiasm in his voice doesn’t conceal the fact that he enjoys working with bikes or that he’s ready to equip any caller with the perfect fit. It’s Jacob’s job at The Sebastian Base Camp to set up people with a bike that matches their style, perhaps a cruisy road bike for meandering along Gore Creek, or one with a featherweight frame for climbing up Vail Pass, or a high-end mountain bike for tackling challenging terrain on Vail Mountain.
