The partnership between the Designer Toy Awards and Kidrobot began back in 2013, when together they announced the production of a toy designed by the winner of the coveted Break-through Artist award. Not just any art toy was in the offering, but the chance for these lauded newcomers to work upon Kidrobot’s premiere platform, the Dunny. Since then, the seed has gestated and blossomed into a collaborative concept, leading to a sepctacular live painting event at New York Comic Con in 2014, and several custom DTA Dunny exhibitions since. One of the most prestigious custom art toy exhibitions around, the DTA Dunny show celebrates the huge amount of talent in the industry. The shows are always highly curated, and are often looked at as a breeding ground for new production Dunny pieces. 100% of the profits for this show go towards the production of the Designer Toy Awards - often with artists also donating their share of the profits. This show catalogue acts as a historical record of the beautiful and unique pieces that were on display at the 2018 Five Points Festival, in Brooklyn, NY.
