Thinking about Cloud County Community College? Smart choice. Exactly What You Need Whether you’re looking for a place to get started on a four-year degree, hands-on training to jump start your career, or something in between, you’ll find it here at Cloud County Community College. We are dedicated to delivering our students high quality, innovative, affordable, and accessible educational opportunities. Exactly Where You Need It Students choose Cloud for a variety of reasons. Sometimes, the cost is convincing: Students have big dreams of a college degree, but four years of tuition at a university is too expensive. Other times, students feel they aren’t ready; they want to figure out what they want to do before even thinking about a degree. Or it could be that students feel comfortable staying closer to home. With two full-service campuses in Concordia and Junction City and courses offered online and at outreach locations, we have an option that will work for all students’ situations. Whatever your reason, we guarantee Cloud is the place for you, with all of the options to meet your needs and help you achieve your goals.

Why Choose Cloud?

Starting at Cloud is smart because it offers you so many advantages:

1. Save money: It is going to cost much less to attend Cloud County Community College 2. 3. 4. 5.

than four-year universities. Spend your first two years at Cloud and you’ll be saving a substantial amount of money on your way to completing a bachelor’s degree. Get hands-on learning: Our students learn by doing from the moment they step on campus. At universities, you won’t be able to get the same hands-on experience until your third or fourth year. Some of these opportunities at Cloud include: Live Animal Unit, Human Cadaver Lab, Athletic Training, Cloud Power Wind Farm, and Student Media. Gain confidence: At Cloud, our class sizes are smaller (general education classes capped at 30 students), so you can actually get to know your classmates and instructors. Faculty, advisors and staff are all ready to support you every step of the way to make sure you have the best experience. Learn from the best: We don’t have graduate teaching assistants, and we don’t do large lecture halls with hundreds of students. At Cloud, many of our instructors already hold advanced degrees, and they will be the ones teaching you in the classroom. Transfer with ease: The Kansas Board of Regents has now approved 56 courses for guaranteed transfer among all Kansas public postsecondary institutions. A student who completes these courses at any Kansas public community college, technical college, or university can be certain that he or she can transfer that course to any other public institution in Kansas in pursuit of a degree or credential.

You’re thinking ahead – that’s smart – no matter what you want to do. Whatever your career goals, you can get your start at Cloud. We assist students in getting the first two years and then transferring to a four-year college or university to complete a bachelor’s degree. We also help students launch into careers more quickly with a certificate or two-year degree with a career program. Either way, Cloud is a smart place to start. With four associate degree options and certificate offerings in diverse areas of academic interest, you’ll find exactly what you need to take those next steps to success.

after Cloud . . .

Bachelor’s Degree: Our transfer options make it easy for you to complete your general education requirements here – at a considerably lower cost – and then transfer credits to other schools. Course Transfer: Students who complete an associate degree based on a baccalaureate-oriented sequence at a state and regionally accredited Kansas public community college, and whose program of study has met the requirements of the Kansas Public Community College-Kansas Public University Transfer Agreement and Articulation Guide, will be accepted with junior standing and will have satisfied the general education requirements of all Kansas public universities. Reverse Transfer: Students who transfer to a Kansas public university from a Kansas public community college or technical college are eligible for Reverse Transfer, which allows for the attainment of any associate degree for which one is eligible along the way to additional certificates and degrees. Articulation Agreements: Cloud has many Articulation Agreements with public and private four year colleges in certain programs for a seamless transition from Cloud to the transfer institution. Students planning to transfer to an institution outside of Kansas should identify the transfer institution early and work with that school’s guidelines to ensure a smooth transfer. Cloud’s academic advisors can assist students in that process.

Cloud is proud to be black, gold, and green. Recycling areas for paper, magazines, newspapers, bottles and cans are located throughout the building. Many projects aimed to reducing, reusing, and recycling are being accomplished. And maybe the most important, a scholarship has been established and is awarded each spring to a returning student who is “GREEN”! Situated on the hill south of the Concordia campus is the Cloud Power Wind Farm, where currently two turbines are located that provide the college with power. In fact, those turbines completely power the geothermal heating, ventilation, and cooling system in the college’s main building on campus.
