Our certified trainers can provide training one on one or in group session. Whether you are new to fitness, need personalized motivation or sport specific training, our personal trainers can develop a program individualized to you and your specific goals. Our trainers can motivate you by assisting with goal setting, providing feedback and accountability. Aquatic Personal Training Packages

All session are 45 minutes. The viscosity of the water provides an excellent source of resistance when incorporated into an Aquatic Personal Training Program. This resistance allows for muscle strengthening without the need of weights. This program is especially useful for those with arthritis, healing fractured bones, or who are overweight. Bianca Hoppe has a professional background in the medical field and is a certified BCRPA Group Fitness, Aquatic Fitness, Third Age, Weight Training, Spin and Pilates instructor. She is also a certified Personal Trainer on land and in water. Bianca is fascinated by the human body and all its capabilities and the science that always discovers new and improved workouts to either get people in better shape, helps them to recover from injuries or improve their everyday mobility.

Gerrimae has had a lifelong passion for movement, food, and people. She was the owner of Thrive Fitness, went back to school to pursue an education in nutrition, became a certified indoor rowing instructor then opened My Element Health and Fitness. For 15 years she shared her knowledge and energy, empowering women to move and thrive. She has broadened her knowledge base greatly by becoming a nutrition coach to allow her a wider approach to her personal training. Her clients benefit not only from excellent coaching but from her lifelong nurturing of people in her care.

Gail Westgate has studied fitness theory, weight training and personal training for over a decade. Gail has focused on helping people achieve positive health and fitness changes that support their day to day life. She has learned from personal experience how to overcome fears and blocks and develop new skills that promote well being and accomplishment. Gail is especially adept at engaging with clients to realize important life style challenges and integrate new strengths and interest to their day to day life. Her good humour and positive attitude have inspired many people to make long lasting changes and gain confidence in their abilities.

Kimberley Gage is a BCRPA Personal and Older Adult Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor and Yoga Teacher. A cheerleader at heart, she is passionate about helping clients meet their health, fitness and mobility goals, regardless of their ability. Kimberley employs a variety of strength and mobility techniques to increase mindbody awareness and improve function.

Roché Rossouw is a BCRPA personal trainer, group fitness instructor and health coach. She is certified in Older Adult, Steady Feet , and Precision Nutrition Level 2, and enjoys teaching people to use the best technique possible when they exercise. “I believe everybody who is able to move, can start somewhere and get stronger if they use good exercise technique, consistently show up to train and try to have fun in the process."

Friday, March 8 from 5:15-6:15pm with Kimberley Celebrate International Women’s Day, Friday March 8 with a fitness class dedicated to and inspired by strong women. Forging gender equity isn't limited to women; allies are incredibly important for the social, economic, cultural, and political advancement of women. You can expect great music, draw prizes and a whole lot of fun. Costumes are encouraged so come dressed as your favourite female character, fictional or real! Feel and experience the pulsating rhythms, dynamic movements and powerful percussions of this unique high-energy rhythmical workout. Drums alive combines movement with the power of drumming. The beginner course will ensure you are familiar with the movements before graduating to more complex choreography in the intermediate class.

Hearts in Motion Walking Group Ages: 16 & up

The Hearts in Motion Walking Group is designed to encourage people to participate in regular physical activity by walking. Walking is a great way to boost health and energy and it's easily incorporated into any lifestyle. You can reduce risk factors such as stress, blood pressure, blood cholesterol, and body fat by incorporating thirty minutes of physical activity most days of the week. Walks will occur in various locations around the community.

The program is progressive with planned physical activities (stretching, activity, and cool-down) based on ActivAge™ training. This fun and social program will help get participants moving in a relaxed environment with likeminded people. The program focuses on improving activities associated with daily living, strengthening muscles used day-today. Each class incorporates physical activities that engage participants, and features in-class discussions and resources to improve overall health and physical well-being. YOUR INFORMED & AUTONOMOUS BIRTH

Workshop series

Ages: 16 & up Birthing in Your Power is a fully comprehensive autonomy based birth prep course with two bonus modules to help you prepare for postpartum and breastfeeding. Participants can register for individual modules or the entire program at a discounted rate. Mondays January 15 - March 25 (no class February 19) from 6:30 - 8:00pm $235 for all 10 sessions, or $40 per session. Location: Elm Room 1: Foundational Birth Prep

This class will give you the tools to create your birth vision, build up a foundational mindset around birth, and learn about the design of physiological birth. January 15

In this session, participants explore the development of your personal autonomy. The topics covered will include "radical responsibility", how to advocate for yourself, and what your legal rights are versus what is believed that we are allowed or not allowed to do. January 29

This class includes a brief overview on the history of modern obstetrics. Participants will be learning how to understand biases about birth, dig into the "illusion of safety" that we feel from obtaining routine standard procedures, and exploring the three biggest decisions that shape everything about your birth and how to decide what is best for you. 4: Options & Interventions

In this loaded class, we will be covering prenatal tests and some uncommon pregnancy conditions, variations of normal, and navigating all of your options covering general labour, postpartum, induction, augmentation, comfort measures and medical pain relief. Participants will also learn about the choices you have for pushing and immediate postpartum, including newborn tests and procedures as well as uncommon labour complications and cesarean sections. 21 February 5


5: Support: Building a Team

Participants will learn how to create your dream team, set up support for your postpartum, and giving your partners the low down on how to support you during your birth. February 12

9: Postpartum

This module will teach you all about the mother-baby dyad, how to lay the foundation for a calm postpartum, and how to support the healing of your body after birth. It will also also cover how to meet the needs of your newborn and do some postpartum support planning. March 18

6: Mindset & Pain

This module focuses on practicing how to live mindfully in preparation for your birth. The class will go over four meditations that you can use during your labour, some pain coping practice methods, and intentional pain coping sessions. February 26

10: Breastfeeding & Nutrition

In this last class, participants will learn the impact of breastfeeding immediately after birth, your baby's hunger cues, and how the anatomy of breastfeeding and milk supply works. The class will explore tips on how to support a healthy pregnancy, fuel your body for your birth, and how to nourish yourself for optimal healing in the 4th trimester. March 25

7: Fears & Cultivate Trust

This class will be teaching about integrating and breaking down your birth fears, how to share your fears out loud, and preventing unwanted outcomes. March 4

In this class, participants will learn how to write up your version of a perfect birth plan, how to communicate the desires you have for your birth effectively to your birth team, and embrace the unknown. March 11

With 6+ years of experience in the birth work realm, she is looking forward to supporting families through an educational role so they can shape their parenthood journey in an authentically autonomous approach. SPECIALITY FITNESS, REHABILITATION AND PREVENTION REGISTERED PROGRAMS - WORKSHOPS The Different Types of Yoga Workshop: Get a flavour of Yoga’s Wisdom and Practices beyond Movement Ages: 19 & up

This workshop will give you a flavour of Yoga beyond movement. We will look at different practices and wisdom that informed what has become known as Yoga in the West world. We look at various yoga terms, “types” of yoga, important texts and traditions, their purpose, cultural history and background. Are you curious about the different types of Yoga and what some of the Yoga terms refer to?At the end of the day, you will get an appreciation of the vastness of the wisdom and practices beyond Yoga movement (Asana) for fitness and stretching. The workshop will be part lecture and part embodied learning where the participants get the chance to practice some of the concepts that are introduced. Handouts with links to a selected list of resources will be provided for anyone whose curiosity is kindled and chooses to continue studying and exploring. Regina is an experienced Yoga Instructor and Yoga Therapist who has practiced various aspects of Yoga for almost 20 years, spent time in Ashrams and traveled to India. Yoga Therapy for Pelvic Health Workshop Ages: 19 & up

This 3-hour workshop is for anyone interested in pelvic health either as a prevention or in support of conditions such as low-back pain, pelvic pain, incontinence, or prolapse. Participants should be able to get up and down to the floor and prepared to look at anatomy models and illustrations of the pelvis and lower back. Participants will gain a better understanding of the muscles, bone structure, connective tissue and ligaments that need to work together for optimal pelvic health. Participants will also improve their awareness about posture and how it can influence breathing, pain, body mechanics and alignment. The workshop starts with 1.5 hours introduction to pelvic health and how yoga therapy can support you. After a short break there will be a guided therapeutic yoga practice followed by closing Q&As. Participants will get a hand-out and take-home sheet to continue their practice at home. Regina is a certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) with teaching experience in the field of Pelvic Health. Yoga for Improving Your Balance Workshop Ages: 19 & up

In this 3-hour workshop you will learn safe and gentle approaches from the “Yoga tool box” that improve your balance, increase stability and build strength and confidence. Balance is an important part of fall prevention especially for older adults and people with moderately impacted mobility. Therapeutic yoga offers techniques and tools that include mindful movements and breathing to support core stability and lower body strength. This focus informs a safe practice that helps to address fear of falling while supporting increased confidence. The light-hearted yet solid approach of Regina’s teaching style combined with her experience as a certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) makes this workshop accessible without previous knowledge of Yoga. Techniques are explained followed by practices that will be adapted to individual needs. Participants will be encouraged to use their “take home sheet” and integrate simple practices in their everyday living. Meditation & Mindfulness

Ages: 16 & up Students will learn the Theravadin meditation practices of Insight (Vipassana) and Tranquility (Jhana) in our new meditation program. Sessions will be kept short and suitable for new practitioners and different postures will be used to keep the body comfortable. Mindfulness practice is included as the meditations are designed to cultivate benevolence, sympathetic joy, compassion and equanimity. Sessions will be a mix of practice and instruction with the amount of practice becoming greater as the class progresses. Rev. Glen studied Theravadin Meditation and Mindfulness at the International Forest Monastery (Wat Pah Nanachat) in Ubon, Thailand. He then ordained as a Theravada monk in 1986 on the island of Phuket, Thailand. In 1990, he was accepted for ordination by the Dalai Lama of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition and was ordained a second time in the Theravada tradition in Sri Lanka. He has taught in numerous venues including a college, wellness centers, community centers and a mental health facility. Recently, he was ordained as a Reverend in the Canadian International Metaphysical Ministry which is not affiliated with any one religion or faith but sees all faiths as being viable means for finding truth and happiness.

Restorative Hatha Yoga Ages: 16 & up

Join Kelly, a certified yoga therapist, and let yourself destress and relax in a gentle yoga practice. Coax strength and flexibility from your body as you learn the benefits of alignment and mindfulness. Participants will use yoga blocks and chairs as they explore variations on familiar postures in a restorative practice

Sunrise Yoga Ages: 16 & up

This sunrise yoga class will slowly and gently wake up the entire body and mind through a series of yoga asanas and breathing. Great for beginner or more experienced yogis, a morning yoga practice is vital to setting up your day for whatever you need. Yoga therapy provides practices that will help you to increase balance by building strength, dynamic & static stability and confidence. Sequential movements, shifting body weight and principles such as “root to rise” will help prevent falls or “catch” yourself before you fall. Balance is an important part of fall prevention for anyone over 40. Therapeutic yoga offers techniques and tools that include mindful movements and breathing to support core stability and lower body strength. Instructor Bio: Kyla Randle Hi I’m Kyla! I started participating in Zumba at just 11 years Zumb I remember watching my Zumba instructors dancing in the front having a great time. Since my first Zumba class I knew I wanted to be just like them. Thanks to my instructors who supported me, gave me confidence, and challenged me, I am now teaching my own classes and my dream to teach came true. I am excited to teach young people Zumba. I want to make Zumba a fun and safe place to kids to express themselves. I look forward to seeing you in my class!
