#ENCINITASLIFE

From the Director’s Desk… Hello Encinitas,

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. I want to provide an update on the Standard Pacific Park Site Project. The design team is working on completing 60% design drawings and is going through the permitting process. We held a public meeting on September 25 to gather input on the skate/bike spot element in the park. The information gathered at the meeting will assist RRM Design Group and Wormhoudt Inc. develop the design for this park feature. We want to thank all of the community participants for their input on this project. The park is scheduled to open in late fall 2019. For more information on the park please visit www.EncinitasCA. gov/StandardPacificParkSite. Staff is currently working on the design and installation of shade structures over the playgrounds at Encinitas Community Park, Sun Vista Park and Leo Mullen Sports Park. The shade structures should be installed by the beginning of summer 2019. Staff is currently in the process of designing the Adams Run Trail Connector, Trail 82, and Trail 95. We look to be in construction of these trails by spring 2019. The department offers amazing events, classes, programs, concerts, art exhibits and so much more. We have beautiful parks, beaches and trails for you to enjoy as well. This year try a new program or take a hike on a trail. There is so much exploring to be done in Encinitas. Staff and I wish you a happy holiday season and bright and safe New Year!

Educational Programming

Green Living Tour

Join Solana Center for an upcoming class to GO GREEN with composting. Learn how you can improve the quality of your soil, reduce waste and air pollution, while saving energy, money, and water. Other class topics include: Gardening, Water Conservation and Zero Waste.

Visit Solana Center on the first Saturday of every month for a free Green Living Tour to learn about composting, water conservation, and sustainability. Solana Center is located at 137 N. El Camino Real, Encinitas,CA, behind the Sherriff’s station.

Master Composter Course

FoodCycle Program
