Primary research is essential for success in the Audiences and Institutions exam. You need to find out how, when and where people access and enjoy games, music, films. 10 questions should be enough; first two questions must be AGE and GENDER. That leaves you eight left. Here are some suggested questions for your survey: General questions:  Do you buy music/films/games?  Do you illegally download music/films/games?  Do you share and like music/films/games on Facebook?  Do you buy physical copies of music/films/games?  Have you created a music/films/games mash­up video and shared it online?  Are you more likely to buy music/films/games ONLINE or IN STORE? Music questions:  Do you attend gigs, festivals, concerts – if yes, which ones and how often?  Do you use iTunes?  Do you sell your music on iTunes?  Are you in a band?  Do you use social media to market and promote your band?  Do you listen to music via live streaming sites (Spotify, You Tube, We7, Last FM)  Do you get free music as part of your mobile contract? Games questions:  What games console do you own?  How and where do you play games (iPhone; iPad; PC; Console etc.)  Do you play online games? If yes which ones?  Do you play games through Facebook? If yes which ones?  Have you ever created/programmed your own games? If yes what software did you use? Film questions:  Do you watch films via live streaming sites? If yes which ones? (You Tube, Vimeo, NetFlix, Love Film)  How often do you go to the cinema per month?  Do you use Orange Wednesdays?  Do you download films from iTunes?  Have you made and shared a film online?  Have you seen a 3­D film at the cinema?
