GOD’S GRACE – OUR GRATITUDE BY REV. MOLLY BLYTHE TEICHERT God’ Grace: God’s grace is a given. Every one of us is loved and cherished by God. God always seeks to bless us and shower us with good gifts, hope, abundance, compassion, rest, health, forgiveness.

Our Gratitude: We say prayers of thanksgiving, we sing, we worship, we jump for joy, we dedicate our lives, we give, all in gratitude for God’s grace.

Through the end of October and into November we have been celebrating a Season of Grace and Gratitude. November 4th, All Saints’ Day This is a day to thank God for those who have gone before us into God’s eternal realm. We also thank God for our family of faith living here and now. It is an All Church Together Sunday, (ACTS). Everyone come for one big coffee hour in Chadsey Hall in between worship services. No programs, no meetings. Just the family of faith all in fellowship together. November 11th, we hear a story about a poor widow and her son who are near starvation. They give away the last of their food, and yet, their food never runs out. It is God’s grace. In gratitude, we share, so that others have enough, and we trust that God gives more than enough for all. November 18th is Stewardship Dedication Sunday – One service at 10:00 a.m. This is the day we dedicate our financial pledges for the coming year. God has showered us with grace. Now we give back in gratitude and generosity. Make a pledge! • Deepen your spirituality. Get closer to God. Grow your soul. Make a commitment to do it. • When we love someone, we give them gifts, just because we love them. Give a gift to God. • Gratitude. We live by the grace of God who gives us life. Give in gratitude. • Support your spiritual home, your “God place,” your family of faith. This church exists because you give. You are our source of income. Without everyone’s financial support, we can’t have a church. • Share God’s love. In your spiritual home, we help the poor, we welcome refugees and give a family a fresh start on life. We work for justice, we bless children, we pray, we care for each other, we offer a healing place for people. • Aim for $4,000 as your annual pledge. November 25th we end the month celebrating not only Thanksgiving, but also Christ the King Sunday. This Sunday we remember God’s intentions for the world with Christ as ruler of all. We celebrate God’s dream for a world filled with peace, justice and love. Sometimes it is difficult to see God’s grace. When all we hear around us is bad news, threats of danger, and dire predictions for the future, it is easy to forget that God’s love slips through to us in every good moment and every good action. My friends, we need each other. We need to be reminded of God’s goodness and look for God’s grace in our midst. We need to challenge each other to claim God’s grace and respond in generosity. We need each other for support, community, faith. I look forward to celebrating God’s grace and our gratitude all month long.

God's Blessings,

Molly

#GRATEFUL

WHAT SHALL I RETURN TO THE LORD FOR ALL GOD’S BOUNTY TO ME? P S A as L Ma 1spiritual 1 6 : 1 2 practice. Yet just as prayer, singing, Bible We don’t often think about our financial giving

study, and working for justice are spiritual, so is financial giving. Jesus, our spiritual mentor, talked about money a lot. In fact, Jesus talked about money more than any other topic except the Kingdom of God. The stakes are high. This is about the quality of our spiritual lives. Giving money to God opens us up to God’s love. It deepens our spiritual vitality. Giving stretches us. It grows our hearts and expands our capacity to live and love and make a difference in the world. As we stretch and grow our spirits we become richer and richer in compassion and generosity. We become rich in helping and healing. We live a life overflowing with meaning, purpose, and joy. The Stewardship committee is asking you to prayerfully consider your commitment to give this coming year. If you have never made a pledge, start now. If you give already, make an increase. Grow your spirit. Deepen your faith. Increase your spiritual vitality and the quality of your spiritual life.

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 18, 2018 DEDICATION SUNDAY THERE WILL BE ONE SERVICE AT 10:00 A.M. FOLLOWED BY AN ALL CHURCH LUNCHEON IN CHADSEY HALL.
