Hello CNH KIWIN’S! It is such a pleasure to welcome you to one of our biggest events of the year—District Convention, and our 40th anniversary nonetheless! CNH KIWIN’S District Board at your Service, alongside our District Convention Chair Charissa Nguyen and adult advisors, have worked long and hard hours to make this event the best it can be, so I hope you have an amazing time. Whether this is your first convention or last convention, I encourage all of you to take advantage of all the opportunities offered to you. This weekend will be filled to the brim with workshops, special guests, recognition, and fun, so leave here with no regrets. Don’t be afraid to meet someone new, go to a new workshop, cheer your heart out, and even shed a few tears (I know I will be shedding quite a few). Everyone here is a part of this amazing Ohana, and we are all here to support each other. As we move into this weekend, I just want to encourage everyone to take a moment to thank everyone who made this weekend possible for you—your club president, club advisors, and Kiwanis advisors. Hey KIWIN’S!! I remember my first District Convention as a freshman, awed by the different divisions and terrified of playing Ride that Pony with all these strangers. Everyone was so loud. So much was going on at once. I really didn’t know what was going on half the time. All I knew was that in that moment, I was proud to be part of KIWIN’S and part of this amazing group cheering their hearts out. I remember the feeling every time “Segerstrom High School” was called out for an award. DCON took my breath away. I fell in love with District Convention, and here I am, two years later, being the mastermind behind it all. This term has breezed by and in three short months, our 40th Annual District Convention at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott will be upon us at last! Your convention committee has worked extremely hard to put together Cirque du Service: The 40th KIWIN’S Spectacular, but are you ready to join our circus troupe for 3 days and 2 nights of celebration and leadership? I hope you will enjoy every part of the convention as much as we enjoyed putting it together.
