LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL

Music and Lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin

Book by Heather Hach

Based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer

Original Production by Hal Luftig, Fox Theatricals, Dori Berinstein, James L. Nederlander, Independent Presenters Network, Roy Furman, Amanda Lipitz, Broadway Asia, Barbara Whitman, FWPM Group, Hendel/Wiesenfeld, Goldberg/Binder, Stern/Meyer, Lane/Comley, Bartner-Jenkins/Nocciolino and Warren Trepp; Produced in association with MGM Onstage, Darcie Denkert and Dean Stolber.

A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Pink. Fluffy. Cotton Candy. Seems like a pretty accurate description of Legally Blonde both the movie and the musical. But beneath all that sugary goodness is something with a whole lot more nutritional value and substance!

Since I first saw Legally Blonde: The Musical almost 20 years ago, I’ve tried to convince anyone who would listen about how there was more to it than they realized. An incredibly complicated score, rich harmonies, clever characters with genuine development and wild dance moves--all things that the cast and crew of this production have worked tirelessly to bring to life.

If you came here for a sparkly good time, you’re in luck! And if you came here looking for something deeper than that, you won’t be disappointed. Like Elle Woods, this show has found a way to be joyful and fun and silly, but also meaningful and heartfelt. I encourage you to enjoy all the layers to be found within--I can’t wait for you to see it!

Special thanks to Debbi Kent, Karen Teely, Christina O’Sullivan and Bob Loncich for their help with this production.
