Welcome to my 14th annual Simmental bull sale! I purchased my first registered Simmental females in 1992, that’s 30 years ago but spent the next decade building a quality herd. The next step was selling a few bulls privately then consigning to the Lloydminster bull sale. Then my numbers and quality had grown to the point, I needed to start my own sale. Always stressing the importance of moderate framed, thick, good uddered cows and stout, high performance bulls. The offering has grown to front end quality bulls in reds, blacks and fullbloods. They are moderate birth weight, thick, soggy, good tempered bulls and as good as you will find anywhere. Many of the red and black bulls are homo polled and all are the right kind. Each group definitely has true breeder bulls at the front end. Call or drop in anytime prior to the sale to evaluate the bulls for yourself. It will be well worth your Ken Gilbert time. Guarantee: All bulls are guaranteed to be satisfactory breeders in accordance with the Canadian Simmental Association guidelines. Should a problem occur, barring physical injury or mismanagement, a bull of equal value or a credit will be issued towards the purchase of another bull. Delivery: Free delivery within 300kms of Vermilion. All other points will be cost shared. Delivery will begin about April 1st at the seller’s convenience. Real easy to describe this bull. Admired from day one and has continually impressed all year. Moderate in frame size but extremely wide topped, stout made, bold in his middle third, has a big square hip, good feet, big nuts, huge hind quarter, and is not the oldest bull in the pen yet has the heaviest 205 wt and heaviest 365 wt. Has a beautiful skull, is clean fronted and will take any program forward. Being homo polled and mothered by a cow with a perfect udder doesn’t hurt either. what would I change about this bull… NOTHING!

Real tough to follow Lot 1 but this bull can hold his own. He is so similar with his moderate, yet stout, deep, well balanced phenotype and his dark, dark red haircoat. He has always caught the eye of the many astute cattlemen that toured the summer pastures and later the bull pen. Homo polled and raised by a front pasture cow. Karissa 213X has done it again. This is her 9th calf and everyone was a red baldy (and I mean dark) almost looks black at times and is one of the best in the pen. 213X is twelve this year and still has an awesome udder. Benny is deeper bodied than most bulls and comes by it honestly as his dam is probably the deepest bodied cow on the farm. I’ve kept the only two heifers she had and they are stellar producers themselves.

If you want to keep replacement heifers, mark this bull high on your list. His dam is a feature cow with the perfect udder: square made, great suspension up high and tight, with small well-placed teats and there’s a reason for it.
